A nova in Sagittarius is bright enough to see with binoculars. Detected last month, the stellar explosion even approached the limit of naked-eye visibility last week. A classical nova results from a thermonuclear explosion on the surface of a white dwarf star -- a dense star having the size of our Earth but the mass of our Sun. In the featured image, the nova was captured last week above ancient Wat Mahathat in Sukhothai, Thailand. To see Nova Sagittarius 2016 yourself, just go out just after sunset and locate near the western horizon the constellation of the Archer (Sagittarius), popularly identified with an iconic teapot. Also visible near the nova is the very bright planet Venus. Don’t delay, though, because not only is the nova fading, but that part of the sky is setting continually closer to sunset. via NASA go.nasa.gov/2ggeidL

Looked so inviting, I wanted to get in and paddle away but had to remember my poor shoulder!

Superb original looking Nova here with no rust I could see. Still has the original rear dealer plate and is a local car.

This didn't come up on any of the car data sites with a particular trim level, so if you know what it is don't hesitate to let me know.

Another special edition I can't remember.

My beautiful kitty Nova, she was a feral who lived in a pile of sticks in our backyard when we moved in. Now she lives with us, she sleeps with me, but she hates all our other cats... she's crazy!

Not a previously unknown dealer special edition, the Nova 'Jet Black' is a one-off created by its current owner using graphics from a Metro. It belongs to a friend, flickr user 'elstro88', and many more photos of it can be seen on his stream - not only is it his everyday car but he has also recently started competing in hillclimbs with it,

The new hydrofoil Nova ferry out on the Riddarfärden bay heading to Ekerö. It will reduce the energy needed by 80%, compared to the diesel ferries. It is a pilot project between Region Stockholm, Trafikverket and Candela. The ferry takes thirty passengers. It has a top speed of 30 knots, and a reach of around 60 Nautical miles.

Comparison between new and old version, old version used metrics from wiki but looked too long and skinny so I added some chonk to the tonk.

Seen somewhere in London on the way to a punk gig last night. My non-car oriented mate was very understanding when I started taking photos of this - in fact I think he was quite taken with it, especially the orange interior. Certainly the oldest Nova I've seen in a while anyway.

VEB Pentacon was an East German camera maker formed in 1964 by amalgation of many companies, including Kamera Werke and Welta. Originally Pentacon was the export model name for the Contax D, since the use of the name Contax had been prohibited for East German company VEB Zeiss Ikon. The new name had been coined from Penta-prism and Con-tax.

The production of VEB Pentacon essentially concentrated on the Praktica SLRs.

Lens mount M42x1 was first used in Zeiss' Contax S of 1949; this East German branch of Zeiss also sold cameras under the Pentacon name; after merger with other East German photographic manufacturers, the name Praktica was used. M42 thread mount cameras first became well-known in Japan under the Praktica brand, and thus the M42 mount is known as the Praktica thread mount there. Since there were no proprietary elements to the M42 mount, many other manufacturers used it; this has led to it being called the Universal thread mount or Universal screw mount by many. The M42 mount was popularized in the United States by Pentax; thus, it is also known as the Pentax thread mount, despite the fact that Pentax did not originate it. From: Camerapedia

The Legend of Novas Inifinite. One crazy year in the 1990s, when the fabric between the universes thinned, curious beings that feed on electromagnetic radition began to slip into our world just to help. They are called Novas Infinite! (beings of Infinite Light).
