Do you exploit your partner’s vulnerability? Or stand guard over it?
Although to differing degrees, we all need our psychological defenses. They protect us from experiencing an otherwise unsettling anxiety. Or an ancient sense of inferiority, or shame that may go all the way back to c...

So this is a very heartfelt note that my six-year-old daughter, (to whom I adoringly refer as The Munch), left for my wife. We found this after The Munch went to bed. I thought it was very thoughtful and cute, but also hilarious (in a "tear in the old man's eye" kind of way), so I thought I would share. To those of you that have munchkins of your own, if you feel compelled to comment, please feel free to share a story of your own as your comment.
Barton under Needwood 9-1-25 The road into the lake was still officially closed today due to the flooding in recent days with signs and cones limiting access. I came round the signs very slowly and rolled gently down the hill passing the 3 drowned cars by putting 1 wheel on the pavement. Vehicles had been passing the stranded cars and in doing so, had dripped water on the sloping road as they went toward the A38 causing the road to resemble a sheet of glass. This lorry had obviously tried to access the quarry after I had arrived and been caught out by the ice. TAKE NOTE-Drive very carefully where there are puddles on roads especially when there is a dip in the road and drive slowly when it's icy. I have experience of icy roads. Ask Mr Ball!
My first (and best) theater poster at Harvard (though I think my poster for Ida gives it a run for its money).
Гітара -- Ukrainian for Guitar. I figured that since I'm making an everyday familiar object look so foreign to the visual senses that I needed a foreign language to describe the set too.
More here in my set, "Гітара:"

Numerous short notes such as eights and sixteenths on a musical staff with a four fourths time signature. Some of the notes are in the G7 and C clef.
Tried this with the Kindle the other day, and liked the result, so thought I'd be "creative" and attempt a self-portrait.
Note to self: start taking camera to work, so I can continue uploading photos that are remotely decent!
My Field Notes treasures sit for their portrait. On the far left is my much-loved, much-battered Texas edition; I covered it with tape to make it waterproof and used first-aid tape on the spine when I added new paper and needed to cover the staple prongs. What you can't see is that the pages are numbered, with an index on the front inside cover (tasks for home, wish list, grocery shopping, books to get, etc.) And the back inside cover holds a pocket for stuff! I am, alas, having to move on to the American Tradesman edition atop the Texas one, but I know I'll love it just as much.
The note left on my desk by two of my students...
"Gone for smoky treat - Back in 5"
Bless them.
580EX II in top left corner for some bouncy light to cover up the nasty background. Triggered with RF-602. I am now using a senior lecturer in video production as a light stand - It works well because he knows what I'm going on about.

If you are using the fishnets to deal with cellulite pay attention to the SIZE of the diamonds. Skinny, toned legs can get away with larger diamond sizes however if you got the extra jiggle they can actually squish down your lumps and bumps and push them through, much like chicken wire! The smaller the diamond size on the fishnet the more of flatter, compressed surface you get.
* Get the seamless fishnet tights as you do not want to be adjusting a seam all day.
*Wearing a slightly darker shade of tights under your fishnets look great as well especially if you cannot find an exact match for your skintone.
Untitled Clipped Note
Look for fishnets with a high spandex content, anything with 12% and over is great for giving you the fit that you will need, as you do not want saggy stockings. The fishnets must cling to your leg, no sag at knees or ankles. The high spandex content will also help prevent snags and it will be easier to adjust the waist band by pushing it down to wear with your belt/underwear. Professional dance fishnets, like Capezio, have a very high spandex content.
*Match the fishnets to your skin tone as close as possible, please do not match the costume (no coloured fishnets ) for this look. There are various shades of nude and tan so test them out and find one that works for you.

one of chris's favorite bars in nashville has coasters all over the walls with notes that people have written. this message was on one of them--front and center, right behind the bar.
i couldn't get a decent picture of it so i wrote it down on the receipt and tucked it away.

Have you ever took pictures in a trip using filters and when you are back home processing the photos you realize that you have completely forgotten what filter you used on each photo? Or, you were in a guided tour and forgot some interesting information about the place that the guide mentioned? Or yet, you forgot the location were the photos were taken?
With Shutter Notes you can take notes of these things while you are photographing (with any camera) and mark a sequence of photos where the notes apply. This is done by taking a picture of the phone screen displaying the note, in the start and at the end of the sequence. This is useful on that situation when you use an accessory on a trip, like a ND filter for example, and when you are back home and start processing the photos you realize that you have completely forgotten what filter you used on each photo. In this case, using the app you will have a shot marking the start of the sequence where the filter was used and another marking the end. You can also write a title, a description and a list of tags (accessories used) for photos that you will upload to Flickr™ and have the notes applied to these photos when they are online, together with (if you want) the location where the sequence was shot, automatically taken by the app.
