As much joy as Sarah gets from dressing them up you’d think they would play along. But I always know it is “dog Halloween costume try-on time” when I suddenly have three warm, fuzzy bodies appear behind my legs.
It's good to be loved
I annoy the crap out of him and he still leans in for a kiss.
Doesn't get much better than that.
Shot while waiting in traffic or something while we were out running errands the other day. Sometimes if I'm fast with the camera she doesn't have time to hide. The lighting wasn't so hot, but the free-hand 3D stereo shot came out ok.
Taken with the self timer yesterday when I woke up. I was going to post it yesterday but got too busy. Happy Monday everyone.
Softbox and reverse umbrella at 45/45 degrees and white reflector rather a long distance below. Focusing with EOS M is not as precise as with 5DII - the focusing square is very large and it is not really possible to focus on the eye alone.
still waiting for that creativity to come back......
Song: All i wanted by paramore

I have had this song stuck in my head since i heard it. The lyrics I can so much relate too right now
found someone to photograph for my experiments :)
Sorry about the eye and frame of the glasses - it seemed to be impossible for me to get an optimal angle here - will practice.
Don't adjust your sets!

Apparently I have a Duchenne smile. I didn't know I had but I just found out. It's all to do with muscles. People smile with their mouths by contracting their zygomaticus major muscle, pulling the mouth and lips into a smiley shape. You control that. But Duchenne gave his name to the smile that is created when there is combined contraction of the zygomaticus major muscle and the orbicularis oculi. That is a muscle around the eye. It's the one that creates furrows in the skin to the side of your eyes, resulting in crow's feet for those who smile genuinely a lot.
Apparently Charles Darwin, in the introduction to his book The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals, (1872), described his indebtedness to the French anatomist Duchenne de Boulogne, who had published his Mecanisme de la Physionomie Humaine 10 years earlier, in 1862. Darwin explained how Duchenne's analyses by means of electricity, and illustrated by magnificent photographs, the movements of the facial muscles. No one has more carefully studied the contraction of each separate muscle, and the consequent furrows produced on the skin. He had also (and this is a very important service), shown which muscles are least under the control of the will.
Observing differences in the appearance of spontaneous smiling and a smile resulting from electrical stimulation of the zygomatic major muscle, Duchenne wrote, "The emotion of frank joy is expressed on the face by the combined contraction of the zygomaticus major muscle and the orbicularis oculi. The first obeys the will but the second is only put in play by the sweet emotions of the soul. Fake joy, the deceitful laugh, cannot provoke the contraction of this latter muscle. The muscle around the eye does not obey the will; it is only brought into play by a true feeling, by an agreeable emotion. Its inertia, in smiling, unmasks a false friend".
I know I like smiling, and I like trying to make people smile. It's become my mission in life. I'm honest, open and emotional. I never force a smile. It's all natural, and now I know mine is a Duchenne smile.
Having said all that I have no idea who this guy is but he seemed friendly enough and let me take his picture while I was waiting to shoot the new baby.
Hopefully the baby photos will come out better
Today, Dave + I + the kiddos + Dave's mom went to Dave's sisters house, who is married with 4 daughters (17-5). There we watched the Broncos KICK SOME ASS and also celebrated my birthday and his sisters birthday the family way. Her birthday was 4 days after mine :-)
We are all, admittedly, oftentimes Amazon Wishlist givers (which no one complains, of course!) but D's mom surprised me with these lovely earrings. I love them! I've been wanting a "nicer" pair of plain silver earrings to wear, and I was having a hard time finding some. Now that my hair is growing out, I think these are perfect! yay!
AND! From his sister+fam, I got 3 - THREE - of my fave Philosophy shower gels! Strawberry Milkshake, Double Rich Hot Cocoa, and Vanilla Birthday Cake! YUM!
If anyone cares, Dave took a 365 photo in this exact spot - do you know which one it is?
Yesterday, I literally refused to shower until my t-shirt dried (fine if everyone else was not waiting to go to the store). I'm completely serious about this.
