today is a no make up kind of day. ive been busting my butt with studying for midterms and ive had swollen lymph nodes for a few weeks and theve been getting bigger so i have to go get blood work done. my neck hurts and so does my head from all this school work. i need summer vacation and a little color to my cheeks.

Behind the scenes: Hidden behind my Neuronal Node greeble is a hand-cranked LEGO Technic pinwheel to cast spinning, flickering shadows on the model's transparent parts. The whole affair is back-lit by an LED penlight, held in place by - of course - more LEGO.

 

This created such an interesting flickering effect, I just had to make a video to demonstrate the (hand-cranked) flickering backlight of the Neuronal Node. (Update: This is the Director's Cut - if you saw the video when I first posted this picture, the music is better now and the whole thing has been reworked. The video is over on YouTube, because Flickr's video player doesn't seem to work very well.) Enjoy!
