Haven't had much time to take snowflake images this year. Happened to find some nice ones on my van and could pass up the chance to capture some of them!

On my way up to the mountain top Grytfoten in the mountain range The Seven Sisters, in Northern-Norway. I came across this waterfall of fresh, clean and delicious (drinkable) mountain water. Sorry about the frame, but it was necessary this time, to separate the image borders and the background colour of Flickr.

We hoped for a nice sunset on the Narew River but it was not to be. The weather was a usual average crap with lots of clouds.

We also packed a ton of food for a homeless cat which is usually lurking there and who never fails to pop out like a devil from a box when attracted by the sound of my car engine.

There was no sunset but the cat was there. And it was a very happy cat that evening.

Here are my two submissions for my 3rd week at Garth Olwg on my Photography Course. Looking down the valley towards Blackmill, south Wales.

The topic this week was 'Landscapes' !

Still love Minimal Photography. Suspect some of you remember the Seagull shot from last year sadly this time no Seagull wanted to be included in this photo. Also had to wait for a while as a family wanted to have a swim near to this so patience was a key which I like to add I do not like waiting ;).

Hope you like :)

Near the Provençal city of Arles, there once was a very large marsh, a bit like those in nearby Camargue, from which emerged one solitary hill, which by contrast with the very flat land around, was named by the Romans Mons majoris (the “Major Mount”). It was the only dry, island-like place for miles.

From the earliest days of Christianity in Provence, one or two eremitic figures came to live there in caves.

In October 949, Teucinde, a rich widow from the Burgundy aristocracy who had come to live in Provence, bought the Mons Majoris island from the bishop of Arles and founded a monastery to be governed by the rule of Saint Benedict. The hermits became the first monks. Donations from local lords to the new abbey of Montmajour poured in, and the abbey became so famous and powerful that, as soon as the early 1000s, it was chosen as their final resting place by the counts of Provence.

Dedicated to Saint Peter, the abbey counted as many as 56 priories in the 13th century, and Benedictine monks remained at Montmajour until the French Revolution. Listed as a Historic Landmark on the very first list of 1840, the abbey today is managed by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux.

One last view of the cloister that I had overlooked. You can see the well better in this one. The central court covered with gravel looks very sad and barren. I’m sure it wasn’t like that in the Middle Ages, but nowadays the place is owned and managed by the State, and they make it easier on themselves...

These strange plants can be found at this time of year in the waste land around fields, train tracks and so on.

I shot it from below before some white clouds, overexposed it a bit in RAW-Development, decreased the contrasts and sharpened it a lot to get this soft but detailed look.

Sunset over a Great Lake (Lake Ontario)

When you're weary, feeling small,

When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;

I'm on your side. When times get rough

And friends just can't be found,

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down.

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down.

I attended the Philippine College of Physicians annual convention to learn new things and to collect CPD units needed for my profession.

Went to Manila a day earlier and stayed in Makati specifically and thought of going around the area.

As I was walking around Makati, it started to drizzle, and I thought of just getting coffee as I was just next to Ayala Triangle Gardens and good thing, it started to POUR like cats and dogs.

But this provided a great opportunity to take photos of the rain.
