Talacre Beach, Flintshire
It was a spur of the moment decision to take the coast road home from our visit to Llandudno for a recky to the lighthouse at Talacre. I wasn’t expecting anything photogenic considering the weather at Llandudno but was shocked at the number of people at the beach. Clearly a stunning landscape shot was out of the question with a featureless sky and people in every direction you looked. But since we’d made the effort to go then fire off a few shots for reference.
Back home, as anticipated, my shots weren’t floating my boat but I thought it an opportunity to process them using the Nik software collection. These have been processed using Silver Efex Pro and have turned out better than the native raw file...
One of the docks and reflection of Marina Towers & Marina Terrace skyscrapers in Marina Dubai. Shot was taken near "Tallest Block in the World", Dubai, UAE.
Post-processing: 3 manual blending exposures processed with CC. Some more adjustment was done by Nik software (Pro Contrast, Darken/Lighten Center, Skylight filter, Tonal Contrast and Vivenza)

South of the boardwalk in Wildwood they have these storm drains that reach out into the ocean. I thought they'd be an interesting subject for some LE images.
Another fantastic day out with the Ragged Victorians, Re-Enactment group.

„LA DIAVOLEZZA“ - DIE SCHÖNE TEUFELIN
Da oben hauste vor vielen Jahren eine wunderbare Bergfee. Sie lebte in ihrer Felsenburg hoch oben zwischen Chapütschöl und Munt Pers, dort wo – eingefasst von Felsentürmen und grossen Geröllhalden- mitten in einer blumenbedeckten Bergweide, ein tiefblauer See die Sonne widerspiegelt, dort wo ganze Rudel von munteren Gämsen sich tummeln und im saftigen Gras weiden, dort wo die Berghühner gackern, hochfliegen, dann im elegantem Gleitflug landen, um zu weiden und weiter zu gackern, dort wo die Schneehasen mit offenen Augen träumen und schliesslich aufgeschreckt in gestrecktem Galopp davon sausen.
Das herrliche Weib wurde nur selten und flüchtig von Jägern erblickt und mit Vorliebe dann bestaunt, wenn sie über die Felsbände des Munt Pers zum „Lej da la Diavolezza“ hinüberwechselte, um dort ein erfrischendes Bad zu nehmen. Dann allerdings wurden die jungen Jäger ganz vernarrt und unvorsichtig. Sie folgten ihr, die stets von ihrer Gämsherde bewacht war, über die Felsgänge bis hinüber zu ihrem Felsenschloss.
Was dann dort geschah, das weiss man nicht, man ahnt es nur. Ein Jäger nach dem anderen verschwand und verlor sich am Munt Pers (verlorener Berg). So auch Aratsch, ein stattlicher Jüngling aus dem Dorf. Er kehrte von der Jagd nicht mehr zurück. Überall wurde vergeblich nach ihm gesucht und schliesslich musste man annehmen, er sei auch in die Gletscherbrüche am Pers gefallen oder irgendwo abgestürzt. Denn wer bis Einbruch der Nacht sich in der Region des Bernina-Massivs aufhielt, hörte, vom Winde getragen, die Klagestimme der Diavolezza, die ausrief: „mort ais Aratsch“ (Aratsch ist tot).
Das erzählte man sich von Generation zu Generation und nannte dann die schöne Alp im Kessel der Berninagruppe Alp Morteratsch. Aber die Diavolezza hatte keine Ruhe bis nicht der Gletscher vorrückte und die ganze Alp bis hinunter ins Tal mit Eis und Geröll zugedeckt war. Dann verliess sie die Gegend mit dem Klageruf: „davent dal Munt dal Pers“ und wurde nie mehr gesehen.

Autumn in general producing some very moody looking skies like this one from Wednesday. Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2
This is my favorite image that I have taken. I like the sweep of the goats, The Sheppard with his stick raised gazing at the oncoming train. all the elements create a tension between the age old herding of goats and the modern world of trains and cars.
Wandeling 921 Gemmenich (Wandelgids Zuid-Limburg).
Net over de Belgische grens ligt op het terrein van de prachtige golfbaan De Mergelhof brasserie Porcini waar u schitterend uitzicht heeft. Tijdens deze heuvelachtige en zeer panoramische grenstocht wandelt u langs de golfbaan omlaag en dan struint u geruime tijd door weilanden langs de Geul. Dan loopt u omhoog naar Plombières en komt u in een leuk parkje. Dan volgt een schitterend stuk langs stukken van de Oude Geul en komt u bij het punt waar de Geul in een grot verdwijnt. Ook wandelt u hier door een prachtig natuurgebied langs een fraai ven. Na 7 km passeert u een leuk vijvertje met schuilhut en zitbanken, een leuke pauzeplek. U loopt door weilanden omhoog en dan loopt u even over een voormalig spoorlijntraject langs de plaats Völkerich. Dan loopt in een weiland omhoog naar een picknicbank waar u schitterend uitzicht heeft. Het laatste stuk wandelt u door het Vijlenerbos, het hoogstgelegen bos van Nederland. Met mooi uitzicht wandelt u omlaag naar de brasserie.
Lengte: 13,7km.
