Lake Drummond is one of two natural lakes found in Virginia. It is located at the heart of The Great Dismal Swamp. The hike out to this location is six miles from where you park. This is a view along the Western shore, looking North (taken at about 1:15pm). It was a long, long walk.

There's quite a bit of history regarding this magnificent wilderness. Check it out on Wikipedia

Saint Benedict Abbey, in an Abbey in Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, Quebec, Canada, and was founded in 1912 by the exiled (Fontenelle Abbey) of St. Wandrille, France under Abbot Dom Joseph Pothier, liturgist and scholar who reconstituted the Gregorian chant. Father Paul Bellot, was the architect 1939-41.

The new priory later became independent within the Solesmes Congregation.

Today it numbers a little more than fifty monks living under the Rule of Saint Benedict. Separated from the world, they seek God in the celebration of the liturgy of the Church, in private prayer nourished by meditation of the Bible and in manual as well as intellectual work. They form a community under the direction of an Abbot.

This is a shot I setup and grabbed on the first night of our trip when we heading to the dinner of our trip at San Angel Inn. It was a great dinner in a beautiful setting. With this shot, I wanted to try and zero in more on the fountain, blurring the background a bit. Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. :) Enjoy!

A clear, moonless night at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California.

Jim Weise (www.wiseguysvisuals.com) pictured here was going a little light painting on the famous keyhole rock for one of his own shots. I thought I'd sneak in a quick 10 second exposure while he worked. The Nikon Df is one heck of a camera for low-light shooting.

I really appreciated the humor these ladies put into their outfits.

Just found out this image made it on to the Explore page for April 15, 2021. Thank you all for liking my photo. 😁
