Dug up this shot from the latest California trip. Met this colorful guy (or gal) at the Pismo Beach Pier on a drive from SF to LA. Shot at 300 mm focal length and am quite impressed with the sharpness from the Tamron 28-300mm lens.
Treated with Niksoftware D-Fine 2.0, Color Contrast Range, Reflector Effects, Viveza (Eye) and Sharpener Pro - each of which were applied subtly.
Early morning in the Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite times to be in that park. I really liked how the sun was coming through the architecture and the trees to the Emporium. Sunshine Sunday seemed to fit pretty well for this particular shot, but who knows, maybe it will stick. :) Please let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!
The gentleman seemed to notice me just as I was taking the picture. Shot with one of my dedicated cameras, the Nikon D610, rather than the Pixel which I also employed throughout my visit. I chose to bring just the Tamron 35mm lens to see what I could get having only the one prime lens.

Yes, I intentionally asked her to hold the roses inverted. This was photographed at the Bakersfield AMTRAK station with only window light, no reflector, or flashes used.
Tuesday started with rain and by afternoon we had a mixed cloud sky. Much more interesting than totally grey or blue! Three exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2. Further processing with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2

A collection of screwdriver bits for this week's Macro Mondays 'hand tools' theme. The length of each 'rack' of bits is 5 cm giving an overall image of approximately 7 x 7 cm.
15 images in a focus stack processed in Helicon Focus (option C). Photoshop for dust and speck removal. Lightroom for cropping, split toning and global adjustments. Conversion to mono in Silver Efex Pro.

Snow and a drab mist accompany church goers. I dragged myself out of bed at o'dark hundred on a Sunday morning to make the journey here to capture two specific images. This is one of them.

Light through the Needle
On May 3, 2016 I had a great day with my very good friend and great photographer Bob Canepa. We started out in a gem of a cove that is in between Breaker Point and Ragged Point and then moved north up the California Central Coast to Pacific Valley.
Not much of a picturesque sunset so I decided to go with a silhouette to enhance the colors that were there on the horizon.

ABOUT THIS IMAGE:
On this day, which was overcast and drizzly, I decided to drive north along the coast and capture long exposure images. Before getting some good images near San Simeon below Hearst Castle, I stopped at Harmony (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmony,_California) where behind the Glassworks building lies an old rusted Dodge truck. I have been photographing this truck off and on for 20 years and decided to try some new tricks. This is the result.

In this alternate view from the harbour wall at St Monans, Fife can be seen two "lumps" on the horizon. The one on the left is Bass Rock - a small island approximately two kilometers off shore. The one on the right is Berwick Law - a conical shaped hill near North Berwick. The body of water separating St Monans in Fife from the far shore is the Firth of Forth.
