During my holiday in Umbria I had the time to experiment with night photography.
Very happy to have capture a typical olive tree with the Big Dipper, and maybe a falling star next to the tree. Do you like taking photo's of the stars?

The Ruhr area at night.
The gasometer is more than an industrial monument. Since it was shut down over 30 years ago, it has developed into the symbol of the city of Oberhausen and, moreover, the unmistakable symbol of an entire region. Built at the end of the 1920s, Europe's largest disc gas tank is an impressive reminder of the heavy industry that shaped the Ruhr area for more than a century.
Construction began in February 1927, and after almost two years the Rhine-Herne Canal was the largest gas tank in Europe, 117.5 m high and 67.6 m in diameter. On May 15, 1929, what was then a masterpiece of civil engineering was put into operation.
After its shutdown in 1988, the future of the gasometer was open and, like many industrial legacies, it was initially threatened with demolition.
Finally, the gasometer was converted into the extraordinary exhibition hall that is today the symbol of the city of Oberhausen.
The renovation took place in 1993/94. The former gas pressure disc was fixed at a height of 4.20 meters. Underneath, a circular room, more than 3000 square meters in size, opens up to visitors today. Two steel stairs lead to the gas pressure disc, in the middle of which a raised platform with a diameter of 20 meters has been installed. Parts of the support structure were redesigned into a grandstand with 500 seats. In total, the gasometer has an area of over 7,000 square meters that can be used for events.
Inside, a glass panoramic elevator enables the journey to under the roof of the gasometer. A second elevator leads outside to the roof, which can also be reached on foot via 592 steps. From up there there is a unique panoramic view of the entire western Ruhr area, which extends up to 35 kilometers in clear weather. Around eight million visitors have enjoyed the panorama from the "roof of the district" and the changing exhibitions so far.
