Had another download disaster so I had to improvise an image quickly and I think I did it with just a minute to spare (actiually 10 seconds). Ajax are my (main) "foreign" team, mainly because I lived through the era of Johan Cruyff and was hooked pretty quickly. This year they were on course for the title, way ahead by nine points with five or six games to go, but they blew it and PSV were able to pip them to the top spot. Kind of par for the course for my teams this season - Queens Park were rubbish, Hearts were poor in the Scottish Premier, Rothes were bottom of the Highland League, Boavista got relegated in Portugal, St Pauli only just missed out on relegation in the Bundesliga and Bohemians continue to be Dublin's cinderella team. Maybe better luck to all next season.
This is the next image I am sharing with y'all. Yes, for the calendar. As you can see, I have stepped out of La Jolla for this years calendar. Please, enjoy!
Geek talk: No filters! I even hand held this and did not use a tripod! So odd for me. :D

what i learn more and more is to be gentle with myself ;)
Snow, snow and more snow, no matter where I go. So given the circumstances, pulled out the fastest lens I could, the f0.95 50mm on the Canon 7 and ventured out into the sub-freezing temps. I was a bit worried that the rangefinder was going to seize up at some point, or the film would snap (at one point it was about 4 degrees F) but no issue. Was smarter about gloves this time - I guess I can learn when there's (significant) discomfort involved. Thanks to all those flickeranians who continue to inspire us!
Thanks for following me, favoring my photos and your comments. They make me stay focused on this wonderful hobby. Thanks to the members of CPS for support and my good friend FAB. Also thanks to flickr and all the wonderful photos in all the groups that inspire us.
Great discoveries are always found beyond the horizon. There is rarely anything new to be uncovered in the comfort of the familiar. To learn, to grow, to see what's over that horizon, we must go there.
It is always frightening, often risky, and usually very uncomfortable when we venture far from home, whether that home is a physical place or a comfortable set of assumptions. Yet that is where the opportunities will be found. Yes, we'll face shifting winds and rolling waters, and we must learn to trim our sails, keep an eye on the compass, and a steady hand on the helm.
Though we risk failure when we venture beyond the horizon, we face certain failure if we never even set sail.
