For June 12th, 2018, closing in on the second anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre in Orlando, Florida, there were nationwide protests led by youth to call for better gun regulations and safer schools. The cause became even more urgent in the wake of the Stoneman Douglas School Shooting in Parkland, Florida, on March 7, 2018, and the continued refusal by politicians funded by the National Rifle Association to do anything about gun violence.
As the Pulse had been a nightclub catering to gay men and transgender women of Latino/Latina backgrounds, there was a lot of intersectional advocacy at the protest on behalf of LGBT and people of color communities as well.
I was honored to witness the Los Angeles rally and die-in next to City Hall.

David Gilcrease - former trainer at Lifestream - formed Resource Realizations which provided seminars to the WWASP programs. During the seminars, children were exposed to sleep deprivation, brainwashing techniques, physical and emotional abuse, etc.

Jason Finlinson - director of Academy at Ivy Ridge - ran the school. He previously worked at other WWASP programs such as Casa By The Sea and was married to Robert Lichfield's sister at that time. Many program survivors speak of instances of his cruelty towards them.

Scattered across the desk are student files that have still not been removed. This includes personal information such as medical histories, social security numbers, birth certificates, journal entries, etc. Since the property is unguarded and unlocked, this is a huge risk to the now-adult former inmates.

This was the "new" gym that was constructed shortly before the closure of the school. The circle of chairs are part of groups that kids had to do during the seminar as part of a "lifeboat" exercise where they chose which of their peers would live or die as part of emotionally breaking them down.
