1994 FCN FOX CHILDREN'S NETWORK, INC. TICK CHARACTER TM 1994 BEN EDLUND. AUTHORIZED USER: RUBIE'S FABRIC COSTUME, RICHMOND HILL, N.Y., ITEM #30475 RUBIE'S COSTUME CO. BOUGHT BEN COOPER, INC. IN 1992. AS A SIDE NOTE: In the 1960s and 1970s, Ben Cooper, Inc., was one of the "big three" Halloween costume companies, along with Collegeville and the H. Halpern Company (Halco). The company became known for licensing popular film and television characters and getting their images onto store shelves quickly. For example, it licensed Spider-Man, a virtually unknown character at the time, in 1963. The company also licensed the Batman character in 1964. The company produced a very popular Richard Nixon mask in the late 1960s, which sold as equally well as its Ronald Reagan mask even in the late 1980s. The company produced a George H. W. Bush mask in 1987, anticipating Bush's election as president by a year. In 1979, Ben Cooper, Inc., was still the largest Halloween costume company in the U.S. That same year, the firm issued its first costume based on a character in an R-rated motion picture, the creature from the film Alien.

Instead of three different brand four port switches which I'd acquired over the ages I decided that I seriously had to sort out the network cupboard once and for all... All cables are now colour coded by type, and all connections get a gigabit port instead of just the 4 which were on the newest switch.
Blue cables are for internet conections (adsl 2+ and HyperOptic 1gbps links)
Red cables for access points (802.11g CCTV AP, 5ghz 802.11n wifi, 500mbps powerline network
Purple cables are direct runs from the various wall sockets through the flat
Yellow network cables are for the VMware server I built to replace the old NAS/Media/backup servers.
The black device is an "OWL USB connect" which is a receiver for the power monitoring system giving live and historic views of your power usage,

Yep, finally bought the ultimate networking device. The black apple on the iPhone's opening screen is from the cover of my first novel. It was designed by Rick Vermeulen, founding father of the former graphic design studio 'Hard Werken' in Rotterdam. The three icons represent only a fraction of the networking apps available on the iPhone 3G.

Forgive me, it's actually my local news channel... but it's easy to see how I made the mistake! With this latest (and hopefully last) blast of winter weather being so serious, the meteorologists at WMC Action News 5 have been explaining the layers of ice, sleet, and snow we've gotten in light-hearted and creative - and food-themed! - fashions. Pictured on the right is Andrew Kozak, who referred to the "winter weather lasagna" plaguing the Mid-South all morning; and on the left is Ron Childers, with a demonstration the station dubbed "severe cereal alert," that you can watch here: www.wmcactionnews5.com/Clip/11199715/watch-ron-childers-d...
As for myself, I didn't have school today or power for about four hours. I'm just glad it came back on as early as it did, because we're expected to break a 95-year-old record low in the area tonight. My spring break is safe - the three previous make-up days were added onto Saturdays and the end of the year - but today and tomorrow have nowhere to go except more Saturdays, according to the school board, because of graduation dates for seniors. None of us wants more than two weeks of six days of school, so now we're all hoping the state department of education will honor the law that states school days missed while under a state of emergency can be waived. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to continuing retail-based pictures over weather-based ones this Saturday with more OfficeMax uploads and vacation photos in celebration of spring break next weekend. Have a good one and stay safe!
