Went a walk up by the Ericht. This place used to give me the absolute heebie-jeebies when I was a kid. It's still there, just a wee bit more dilapidated than 30 years ago.

Sparrow B: Oh this looks dirty and messy.
Me: True. I haven't have time to clean this up yet. Actually I didn't get to complete the outdoor jobs today. Didn't sweep the whole driveway, although have swept the area in front of the door and also swept the garage. Didn't mow the lawn because I felt I didn't have much strength to do it today - although mowing the front lawn doesn't require me to carry the lawn mower but the spirit is lacking. Didn't do the weeding at the back garden. The cleaning up in the house took much time, especially the carpet area. I noticed this area too. Last year I removed the "covers" and cleared the residue/soil/whatever that were inside. You can even find earthworms too and I took them all out and moved them to the garden beds. I have to do it in this early winter or as soon as I can get it before the drain clogs.
SB: Oops. I shouldn't say too much then since I didn't help today.
Me: That's alright Sparrow B. Your company cheers me up. I think the other purpose that you found for the two cleaned warriors is pretty good. That should make Carrot a couch potato and Mr. Might-be Vampire won't complain much after that. Thanks Sparrow B.
SB: Oh you are very welcome! Anyway, it all started because of my bee threat so I should help to end the disaster too.

Occupy Asheville. October 1, 2011 and will continue until....
The protest is in solidarity with movements across the country that began on Wall Street in New York City on September 17th. The participants in a nationwide campaign called Occupy Together rail against corporate greed at the expense of the American Dream. Demonstration began on Wall Street in Asheville, NC, followed by a march through downtown Asheville and continues in Pritchard Park.

Help me find this fellow a home.
He's 3-6 months old. Found by a friend early morning on Sept. 13 outside of Oaks Card Club in Emeryville. No tags or microchip. Been with me for about a month.
A delightful, loving little guy who appreciates attention and enjoys meeting new people and animals. Fond of rabbits, especially. Purrs like a motorboat and mews like a mouse. Always adorable, at sleep or at play.
Very sociable. Needs someone who is home more often than I or has another cat to keep him company.
Update
Through the magic of Flickr, little guy has been adopted by the wonderful Esme. He will now roam a big city apartment with lots of company and a doting mama. Feeling a bit tender, but pleased he found a good permanent home.
