This Nissan GT-R has evaded me a number of times over the months, but I finally caught the bastard. Fortunately, it's not as awful as I was told, but the wing.. er, excuse me, bench, needs to go. The car was horridly filthy, but the owner was nice enough to wait for my thumbs up after I got a front shot before he left the green light.

Every Dachshund needs a stoneware bowl to eat or drink from. As with everything I make it is far from perfect but functional. I like the glazes, a bit dark due to the clay body I used, it was a dark clay.
Made a prototype of a cutlery case with 4 slots for a knife, spoon, fork and chopsticks. Needs some improvement, but on the whole, happy with the result!
What an amazing feeling it is when you know that you helped someone who truly needs assistance and would not have been able to afford it. To know that it is because of your help, someone’s life got a
little bit easier and safer. That was the goal and vision of Joseph Harper, a boy with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, who 5 years ago created The Wheeled Scotsman’s Foundation to do just that….to help people with mobility is...sues who cannot afford to make their homes safe because certain accommodations like ramps, pull bars in the bathroom, wheelchair accessible showers, etc. are usually not covered by insurance. Sadly, Joey passed away in January of 2010, yet his vision and legacy lives on in the people whose lives he has impacted as well as his family and friends who continue to run The Wheeled Scotsman.
It is with renewed vigor and urgency that we push forward and try to help as many people as we can. To date, The Wheeled Scotsman Foundation has been able to help more than 10 families make their homes safer. We send out our contractors, pay for all permits, and complete all work at absolutely no cost to the family or individual. Although we wish we could help everyone on our waiting list, we are limited by funds. 100% of the money raised through fundraisers, like the Black Sheep Run, is spent to help others and this is where we need your help!!!
The Kid’s 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 9 am. The Family Fun Walk will start at 9:15 am. The 5K will start at 9:30 am. Dogs on leashes and baby strollers are all welcomed. Slight dent on the left side of the tank needs to be pulled and paint. I will probably fire the engine in the next day or so.
Nice smile, Leah, but your teeth look like you don't brush them (rest assured, her teeth do get brushed regularly).

After visiting Akaka Falls a few minutes up the road, I decided to get another cup of coffee as I continued on my way to the southern part of the Big Island. It was a small coffeshop ( Shark's Coffee) in the town of Honomu.
As I waited for my coffee, I was talking to the girl behind the counter. She did not look Hawaiian so I asked her where she was from. She mentioned she was from just outside of Detroit, Michigan to which I replied "I'm glad you made it out alive". She laughed (Detroit is a very rough city)
I told her I was from the most annoying state in the country. I asked to guess where I was from. I told her I would give her three guesses and if she was right I was going to give her the change from my coffee (which was about $2.50). She stared at me, then smiled, then she told me she only needs one guess.
The girl said "New Jersey".
I pulled out my driver's license and showed her my New Jersey ID.
I hope she enjoyed her tip money.....

In the mid to late 1970s I was employed as a Residential Social Worker at a long-stay children and young person home in a south London borough. During my stay there I took many hundreds of photos of the youngsters in my care and of the activities in which we were involved.
This is young 'SB', at the time he would have been 11 or 12 and you will notice that he has a parka coat which had become fashionable again after their well-known use by the Mods in the 1960s. He's also wearing typical 1970s very wide-legged jeans tucked into his wellies. He is posing with a cheesy grin against a cannon on the parapet of Walmer Castle. I like this photo, it shows a happy boy enjoying a memorable holiday. I'd just love to know what became of him and where he is now.
Very often a couple of members of staff would take the youngsters off for a few days out into the countryside or to the sea and it was on one such occasion that we were staying in Kent for a weekend during the autumn half term holiday.
Each youngster at the children's home had a key worker and this is one of the boys for whom I was responsible. It was my role to liaise with schools, social workers and other agencies and to look after personal needs, clothing purchases etc.
