I joined a round robin journal swap on swap-bot even though I was so disappointed by the last one I joined. I hope everyone keeps up their end of the deal and keeps the journals moving.
I'm starting with an old book form 1926, "The Plough and The Stars". I will add a few pages and then send it to my partner.
The pages are old, but they aren't very brittle. I pulled a bunch of pages out of the signatures so it will have room to grow.
I might gesso a few pages for future partners as the pages really soak up paint and water.
On 4/10/15 volunteers of all ages and ability are needed to help us clean it up. If left the trash it not only choking out all the natural vegetation it is also washing into the stream which flows into Bear Creek and the Chesapeake Bay.
We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them.
For more information call (410) 285-1202 or email Info@BreadandCheeseCreek.org
Registration is at 2048 Plainfield Road, Dundalk, MD 21222 and will open at 8:00 am and we will start cleaning up at 9:00 am after a brief orientation! Thank you for your support!

And there's me putting myself to great indignity for my art, pretending to photograph myself rather than the other customers.
The bar seems to be "Le St-Emilien" this year. There was a time when it was "Le Chien Fou", and there may have been other transformations during the seven years we have been coming here.
Cote d'Ivoire is the world's largest cocoa producer, but its farms are also some of the oldest and most in need of rehabilitation. In all of West Africa, about 3.5 billion cocoa trees need to be replaced or rehabilitated. The average farm is family-run and about 1-2 hectares (just under 5 acres). With an average yield and a family of 6, it will provide less than $2 per day per family member.

This is a photograph from the finish of the 36th Michael Manning Memorial "Dunshaughlin 10KM" Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 20th June 2015 at 19:30. This race is widely acknowledged within the Irish running community as one of the best races in Ireland. While being very well attended and competitive it is also one of the oldest 10KM races in Ireland. The numbers for this race have exceeded expectations year on year for the past number of years. In 2008 a record field of 306 took to the start line but by 2012 this number had more than doubled with 647 runners taking part. The starting numbers in 2013 topped this again at 668. Last year, 2014, the numbers rocketed to a new record of 883. This year 862 finished the race showing that the race continues to attract very substantial crowds. This year, as in previous years, the race attracted runners from not just all of Leinster but from the four corners of Ireland. Who knows but this race could reach 1,000 entrants next year? The work of the organising committee must be commended on making this event possible. The Dunshaughlin 10KM has earned it's place at the top of the pedestal of Irish running through the sheer hard work of Dunshaughlin AC over the years. Road race events do not survive on their own. There must be dedication, hard work and a development vision amongst the committee and the host club. Well done to all.
We have an extensive set of photographs from the race tonight taken at the 9KM mark and at 400M to go. The full set is available at: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157654823417232

USING OUR PHOTOGRAPHS - A QUICK GUIDE AND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?
Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share directly to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.
BUT..... Wait there a minute....
We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.
This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
Flood water was beginning to encroach on this property along the south bank of the Meduxnekeag. Scenes like this became common across the region during this most aggressive portion of the spring thaw. A state of emergency was declared in Sussex Corner (200 kilometres away) when a nearby creek, swollen with heavy rain and clogged with ice, burst its banks and flooded the town.

One of the coolest looking bikes I saw at night on the Playa. This one was incredibly well lit and I really liked the couch with the umbrella.
Need to get that special person a special 💝 gift. I’ve been out about 3 hours now and I’m still not sure what to get. It could just be a late lunch and back to the grind!!!💋♥️🌹
Which story is true?:
1. Last night i won the local cagefighting contest?
2. Nihilists beat me up and stole my rug (that really tied the room together)?
3. I work too fucking much so my bloodpressure and gravity said: fuck him!
When I stay up late I like to make a nice breakfast, but when one of the things occupying the late night was doing all of the dishes in the house it's just easier to have some fruit.
Death Mountain 2
So much has been learned....so much remains unknown. The needed rest, and the Sun lulls Stragon. What shall Necros Island hold in store? The books and notes.... vague..... but a common theme..... death waits and will find those who are not prepared.

Don't be fooled by the smile and friendly demeanor of Phineas. He may look like just a simple traveler looking for a ride, but once he's seated beside you he'll start his sales pitch. Unless you have a squeaky snake in need of lubrication, steer clear of this snake oil salesman.
My favourite protest sign regarding the proposed mandatory filtering of Australian internet traffic. A reference to wikipedia and an xkcd comic implying that the arguments used to support the filter are baseless.

With the recession still lingering fresh in consumers’ minds, frugality is en vogue like never before. But rather than use a highfalutin phrase like “Frugality is en vogue” to rally Denverites, we went with “Waste is out” to spearhead this summer’s Denver Water conservation campaign.
To demonstrate the proposition and lead by example, we reused old billboards and placed a thin vinyl snipe over the existing art, using only 8% of the vinyl of a newly printed board. Of course, we couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of Anthony’s Pizza, Fairmount Cemetery, Qdoba, Steamboat Ski Resort and our amigos at Cultivator and Xuma Communications. Thanks for helping us use only what we need, y’all.
