Like most kittens, Athena adores playing, cuddling and making mischief. Like so many kittens, she was born outside and learned quickly that she had to fend for herself. Unfortunately, one spring day she was hit by a car. A kind person found her lying next to some garbage cans in an alley. She was not using her rear legs. She arrived at Tree House in a state of shock, shaking uncontrollably and in a lot of pain. Our veterinarians knew she had sustained serious trauma to the spine. We knew that in order to survive, this little feline would need all the strength she could muster so we named her Athena, after the Greek Goddess of heroic endeavor. Athena bravely endured complicated spinal surgery with and is currently undergoing physical therapy. While she still has not regained the use of her back legs, the surgery allowed her injuries to heal and there is still some hope that she may regain at least some of the movement in her legs. Athena, like many of our other special needs cats, inspires people every day with her bravery and resilience.

Christian from Pilgrims Progress finds himself at the foot of the cross
This is from a Book called the Pilgrims Progress and Holy War by John Bunyan, the book was presented to Martilda Reynolds in May 1887 and then given to Colin Oddy on July 17th 1914 as a gift from his Aunty Lucy for his birthday..(I purchased it from a charity shop) It begins with the life of Bunyan by the Late Rev. W Brock D. D. There is then a poem by Bunyan and then Pilgrim Progress and then the Holy War. At the end is a poem called Mansoul lost and Mansoul regained. There are also annotation by Rev R. Maguire M. A. Rector of St Olave, Southwark. it is Illustrated with Coloured Plates from Drawing by H. C. Selous

This is the third part of my selfexploring "butterfly" project
In the first one I recognised that I am not just sense but heart also: 1. Twins. Who wins?
Maybe I wished the yellow emotion part would win so in the second one I gave wings to my yellow side as inspired by peterkelemen with his comment. 2. If I were a butterfly...
But finally I realised that I need my both parts to have the balance. My sensitive part can't fly just with one wing, I need my both wings to fly: I need my sense and feelings also for having real and full life.

These need to be washed & that's a good thing.
Lesson learned on this road trip:

Whilst I was walking along the corridors of Xitang, I met this old lady. She's looked like she's in her 80's. Really fragile, frail and old. I was somewhat shocked to her living alone in this little room no bigger than 4ft x 10ft.
She was completely chair bound. Couldn't walk nor get up from her seat. She was begging and saying something in Mandarin. But she sounded and looked so sad.
It broke my heart to see her being alone in that room.
I really doubt it that someone else is really taking care of her considering she had to beg and plead for money.Really wonder what happened to her family. I hope they didn't abandon her there or used her to beg for money from tourist.
I couldn't not give her money. Gave her about RMB10 (RM5) and so did one of my colleagues. I also couldnt help but take her pics as well. Hope God looks after her if she's living alone.
So....I really need your opinion. Is the grey too much? I wanted to show off the HV in zig zag, and I like grey, but too much? I'm going to make two more rows to make a nice lap sized quilt for our family room. I have two teenage boys, and I'm trying to go more "manly"
if you can call a quilt that :) Honesty please!!
