PS I got a new minecraft. I gave my old minecraft27326 account to my friend, so beware, lol. New name: TheSmartAlex. U c wut I did thar?

Remember, 20 comments + idea = LEGOZ

Thanks!

-Alex

What a trip…whenever I need a little more 'hakuna matata' in the first world, I take a little break to look through pix from our recent safari. Have to give a huge thanks right up front to David and Karen at Access 2 Tanzania for making our safari a truly unforgettable experience!

We came in with really, really high expectations, which come from having planned a trip for so long, but the safari wildly exceeded those--so many pinch-me-can't believe it's really happening moments! The pacing Karen set up for us was just perfect, with plenty of time to get to explore each park, get a sense for its unique geography, critter-hunt/game drive and take tons of photos. The lodges were all very cool and unique and treated us like royalty, with amazing views, delicious food, and lovely and at some over-the-top luxurious accommodations. It was great to try such a mix! Loved the views and elephants walking amongst the cars in the parking lot at Tarangire lodge, and saw lions hunting on an early game drive there, along with so much more. The Sopa had a spectacular view and cliffside pool and so cool to watch the sunset and scenery of the crater after spending the day down there. The Farmhouse had a marvelous atmosphere, with their home grown coffee, glass of wine by the firepit with live music--it and the Lemala Kuria were so luxurious. Our evenings out on the Serengeti chatting with other travelers at both places and watching the stars were wonderful.

David is a spectacular guide, who found us absolutely everything one hopes to see on safari, including several lion prides/kills, two sightings of rhinos (including a close-up mom, dad and baby), cheetahs, a leopard, seas of elephants in tall grass and even crossing the river, hippos, zebras, giraffes, impalas etc in uncountable numbers and even a wildebeast river crossing and crocodiles and vultures feasting on the unsuccessful wildebeasts from past crossings. And the balloon ride was amazingly cool--silently drifting along over the Serengeti with views from the air of a hippo running along underneath, lions roaring and with their babies in the early morning light wandering below. David was very funny, more aware of what we'd already seen/photographed extensively versus what was new than we were, and great at getting just the location with no obstructions and perfect light for photos and figuring out how long we should stake out a scene versus moving on. He was such a central part of making the safari as awesome as it was.

And just when we'd seen wildebeasts galore, had eaten our picnic basket and headed to visit the border with Kenya and were celebrating a successful safari it was time to head to Zanzibar--quite a change to go to beach luxury, an underwater snorkel at Mnemba reefs with tropical fish and three dolphins playing around our boat and a sunset dhow cruise the next evening....and an incredible view of the whole city and sunset over the water from our private rooftop porch and outdoor bath and five course local cuisine tasting menu at the Zanzibar Palace.

Just remarkably spectacular from start to finish and we truly lacked for nothing...in fact, despite bringing bug spray and taking anti-malarials, neither of us ever saw a mosquito. I was glad to have all of the meds we brought, but we were healthy throughout. Having as much fun going through the photos now as I did taking them--great to see what we managed to shoot. I'll add some pix to this album for each park as I get them all organized.

Pennan Brae's video, 'Need You Now' (http://bit.ly/aVIJ7w) was shot in the sweltering heat of Osaka this August, 2010. Directed by Mogcat Productions, the premise is of a young man writing a love letter which he folds into a paper airplane & hurls in the air, hoping it finds his love.

All of us need water, but some of us need to monitor as well as maintain. I check my blood sugar at least once or twice a day. It took me a while but I'm finally over anticipating the needle. :(

TEXTO DO ERNANIB:

Ajude!!! Divulge!!! Dê corda nesses pequenos relógios de vida.

_____________________________________________________

There is a time for planting and a time for harvesting. We are all in a hurry to live, not to die.We have time for internet, for friends, for playing, for working and we never have time to stop and help others. We have time for watching TV, reading the papers or a good book but we never have time for reading a message asking for help.

But there are the ones who don’t have any more time to lose. The ones who didn’t have time to plant. That barely have time to play. That won’t have time to say “I love you, mom, dad”. Because someone, somewhere didn’t have time to read this message, to try to know what it means, to try to know how to help. Because many times who could help don’t have the time, because it’s not an investment with short term interest or because thinks its time is too valuable to spend with somenone who doesn’t have that much time.

Stop for a moment.Try to read and get informed. The children that are about to say their goodbyes to life will be thankful for these few moments you took to help them.. Don’t let their life clocks stop just because you didn’t want to waste your time. Help them! Spread the word! Wind up these little life clocks

At first I had a hard time summarizing all the things I need for day six of the #fmsphotoaday challenge. Then I realized that the easiest way to sum it all up is that I need to follow my dreams. <3 ((felt good to dig out this piece of paper, I haven't used it in photos in years!))
