Afghanistan is overwhelmingly an agricultural economy, with farmers comprising over sixty percent of the workforce. Potatoes and turnips are the main crops grown in the Pusht Ruq village of Dai Kundi province.

Nessim's carpets.
The N is spirally as a carpet roll both ends.
In the sign it's the first letter of the whole name - the rest is not iconic as far as I can tell.
The shape of the letter represents the product sold in the store.
The most irresistably gorgeous cookies made by Karyn Patching of Sweet n' Pretty on the Northern Beaches.

Yep, that's the Eiffel Tower in the background just outside our apartment. Gustave Eiffel not only designed the tower, but also invented the clasp that is on the end of garter belt that is holding up my nylons.

Let's raise a glass to bokeh - HNFF!
For Scoutj's inspired FGR pick of Booze 'n' Bokeh. This isn't the first time I've combined the two it has to be said. I found these fab vintage cocktail glasses when we were sorting out my late Grandma's house so I'm raising a glass to her too. Unfortunately I discovered that they've reflected my messy bedroom but didn't have time to reshoot!
Happy Easter too - have a great weekend!
I've just discovered it's day 100 in the PAD year so here's to that too!!!

Y al verte quiso gritar, y no pudo mas que susurrar palabras sin razón. Rompió su corazón, lamentando pensar que nunca volverá, que nunca ha estado allí, que todas las promesas que hizo no eran de verdad...
Nunca, nunca, nunca... ¿nunca digas nunca? Pues el nunca existe...

I took this after noticing the nice but fleeting color in the sky. It quickly became an experiment in how long I could do handheld shots with the 18-200VR Nikkor without blur... about 1/2s as it turns out.
The term Rock n Roll may simply mean a type of music to you but the original slang term had strong sexual overtones. In the same way so does this plant, my Akebia quinata or chocolate vine.
Take for 113 Pictures in 2013 #56 Rock n Roll.
I try to grow in my garden as many as possible plants which have edible fruits, Akebia quinata was the choice to climb around my trellis, two varieties as needed to fertilise the flowers. The flower clusters are much smaller than I thought, barely the size of my fingernails, yet the seedpods can grow four inches long. When ripe they split open to reveal a sticky gel which looks like tapioca and tastes like melon - not to everyone's taste but one day when food is scarce people will be glad of it. In poor countries these plants thrive and take over like blackberries here, a poor child's sweets. I just hope I can keep it under control!
