A plant outside our kitchen has a couple of weird stems growing out. I put some dark background cloth on the ground and took lots of pictures.
The photos later in the day looked better.

Mutant, the ostrich, often lays an egg. The animal keepers say that she lacks the maternal instincts that would bring the baby to the point of hatching, as she seldom tends the eggs she lays. There will probably be no baby ostriches for her!
this thing was beyond amazing. does anyone know what it was called? sadly i never got to see it walk in person, but here's a video.
