Looking down the heart of Murfreesboro into downtown and then out of town. That is Memorial Blvd. snaking its way through town.

Diamond John's Riverside Retreat at the Crater of Diamonds in Murfreesboro, AR. This place had so much possibility, but in all honesty, it was kind of a dump. The bathrooms were unclean to the point of being a health hazard, and so much of the decking and outdoor furniture was in disrepair that it was dangerous. Of course, we spent the majority of our time outside and had a blast despite my disappointment with the site.
I'n not sure what kind of baby birds these are. They were chirping from an outside ledge of the gazeebo to their mother up in the trees nearby. They have an unusal yellow-tipped tail (which you can see a little of poking out from behind the brid in the foreground) with tiny red tips on their wings. Any idea what these are?
This photo was undated but thought to be from 1965. Pictured are John, Walter, Will, Ben, Bessie, Estelle, and Lucy Belle. Not pictured was Mary, the other living sibling at that time. Six photos from the 1967 Hughes Reunion have already been posted and can be seen in my Album "My Mother's Family (LBH)".
April 10, 2009 - What remains of the power, telephone and cable lines on Bushnell Drive in Murfreesboro.
From this point of view, the EF-4 tornado moved down this street from left to right and completely destroyed the home that once stood to the right of the home that is pictured.
Here's the first batch of cucumbers from the garden. I have a modified pickle recipe ready for these.
I could only eat a couple before I started having some kind of allergic reaction, but this bowl of cherries Vince washed up looked great.
I notice cheeries and plums make my mouth itch in a painful way. Apples do it just a little. I think these reactions are kind of new over the past few years.
Aggie & Butters could care less about a freshly cut yard. They're thinking it's just about feeding time.
I snapped a few shots while driving through the wake of the April 10, 2009 tornado that caused massive destruction in Murfreesboro, TN. This is the neighborhood where Carl and Abby live, and I'm so glad that their home was not in the path. The tornado was an EF-4, caused over $40 million in damage, and killed two people.
(I didn't come to rubberneck. This happened on my 30th birthday, and I was on my way to meet friends.)
Kelly ditches the aces (she's got no sleeves to hide them in anyway) and picks up a tommy gun to claim the pot of cash.
Gateway Island is a rather new city park located near St. Thomas Rutherford hospital in Murfreesboro.
I'm not able to identify this species. If you can, please help.
Marker for my Uncle Andrew Wilson Hamilton and Aunt Bessie Jane Hughes Hamilton. Located at the Murfreesboro Cemetery. Andrew was a brother of my father, and Bessie was a sister of my mother.
My grandmother, Mary Rebecca Thomas Hughes, with 2 of her daughters and 4 grand-daughters.
In the back row are Irene Hamilton, Estelle Hughes Lewallen (my aunt), Bessie Hughes Hamilton {my aunt and mother of the 4 girls), and Belle Hamilton. Jewel Hamilton is held by her grandmother and Marie Hamilton is in front on the right.
Confederate Circle is a mass grave of 2000 mostly unidentified Confederate Soldiers at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. The marble marker was placed by the Daughters of the Confederacy in 1915.
The girls from ACME WIDGET are here. The one in the foreground connected to (415) 692-3601. Does it ring a bell? Was this your phone?
The number currently rings to a female robot voice that says, "Welcome to my mailbox. I am currently away for the weekend. Please leave a message."
Robot voice, I have the phone you used to connect with others. What do you do? How are the children? Do you remember me? Wait until you see what I become.
