An heirloom photo of the Japany, Arkansas, Methodist Sunday School. Japany was a farming community located about 4 miles SE of Murfreesboro, near the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Many Hughes and Hamilton people are in this picture, starting with my Grandfather, James Kennedy Hughes (front row, center), who was the Superintendent of the SS. Others have been identified by my sister, Thelma, as follows:
1st row: Mike Hamilton 2nd from left, Will Hughes 3rd, John Hughes 4th, my Mother Lucy Belle Hughes (later Hamilton) 5th from right.
2nd row; Ben Hughes 2nd from left, Alfred Hughes 4th from left.
3rd row: At the far right is my Grandmother, Lucinda Ellen Ross Hamilton (holding baby Mollie Hamilton). then my Grandfather, Andrew Wilson Hamilton, is the 4th adult from the right, followed by Dove Hamilton 5th from right, and Bessie Hughes (later Hamilton) 6th from right.
4th row: Walter Hughes 3rd from left, Andrew Hamilton 4th from left.
5th row: Jesse Hamilton 2nd from left, my Father Nathaniel Monroe Hamilton 4th from right.
This is a 11 exposure bracket that I used. No flash was added. Used the natural light from the room. I did also use a separate shot of myself that I merged into the final HDR Enfused image utilizing Photoshop.
These statues are near the new library.
I decided to put this is the Famous People Statues. He is famous in Murfreesboro. I actually knew him briefly about 55 years ago, but I can't seem to pull his name out of my musty brain.
Here is some fould smelling ginkgo fruit (looks like a drupe but ginkgo is a gymnosperm)...smells like intense dog poop. That is a possible tea-bag (in the college sense, not the liberal media sense of the word) in the bacground...or maybe its another ginkgo fruit...remember go with ginkgo

One of the most difficult things to find and photograph in Florida are lone trees. The only lone tree photos I've taken have all been out of Florida. This HDR photo was shot while visiting an old buddy who lives in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Exposures were captured during sunrise, but I was fortunate enough to get a moonset as well.
Over the top of downtown Murfreesboro, TN. A great looking downtown with the Rutherford County Courthouse in the center and the "Square" around the middle of downtown. You can also see some of the residential neighborhoods around the eastern part of downtown in the background.
A reunion of the Hughes Family in Southwest Arkansas. This and the following photos were recently re-discovered and are now being added to my Album "My Mother's Family (LBH)". Pictured here are Will, John, Andrew Hamilton, Lola, Bessie, Walter, Maude, Ben, Roy Lewallen, Estelle, Nathaniel (NM) Hamilton (my Father), and Lucy Belle Hughes Hamilton (my Mother).

Another shot, unfortunately not really clear since I was shooting through a horrifically dirty windshield.. Would have went to the car wash but the lines are outrageous today. :)
This seems to be the last Hughes Family Reunion attended by a group of the surviving sons and daughters of James Kennedy and Rebecca Thomas Hughes. Pictured are Estelle, Ben, John, Mary and Will.
Took this image with my first digital camera in April of 2002!
Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 help quite a lot.
There is a horrendous street light on the face of the barn these days.
Diamond John's Riverside Retreat at the Crater of Diamonds in Murfreesboro, AR. This place had so much possibility, but in all honesty, it was kind of a dump. The bathrooms were unclean to the point of being a health hazard, and so much of the decking and outdoor furniture was in disrepair that it was dangerous. Of course, we spent the majority of our time outside and had a blast despite my disappointment with the site.
