Had a delightful time seeing old friends and making plenty of new ones this weekend while being able to explore Art Prize in downtown Grand Rapids. If you live close enough to justify coming...I absolutely recommend it this year. It never ceases to amaze me as to what people are able to create. It's incredible.

The first signing event was held at DD department in Changwon City. Most of all, we were worried about the weather in Changwon since there was strong wind or torrential rain in most areas. Luckily it was sunny and hot in Changwon city so we called Minho as driving the Sun. ^^ The signing event was held at a small plaza of the store so many people could see Minho closely as well as people who had a chance to get his autograph. They said unanimously " Minho is perfect.", " He looks like a doll not a person" and " "He is superior in stature". During the event, the sponsor played the OST of BOF, and the atmosphere was really good. Today Minho wore a white t-shirt, a checked out-shirt, jeans and orange colored sneakers. Today his fashion point was wrong buttoned shirt...It was not caused by mistake but one of his fashion styles.^^ Many fans who saw his photos left their messages that Minho seemed to do body-building because his body looked very good today. Also some people said maybe he got haircut and had his hair dyed, he looked simple and clear today. One guy (we guessed he is one of staff from the DD store) left an afternote on the DC gallery. He said that he got the chance to talk with MH, and Minho gave him a cigarette and smoked together.(brand PLAMENT LIGHT) Wow~ many fans left the messages for the guy about envying him and hoping MH could quit smoking. As he had to leave for the next fan signing event, he didn't linger there and left quickly. credits: soompi.com, as labelled, loveminho.com

Here is the screen capture of the Windows version of my IRG transformation program, written in Visual Basic 2010 Express. This is a very early beta version 1.0. Not bad since I only started learning VB only a week ago. This program runs much much faster than my QBasic version.
I wanted the screen to be user friendly as well as informative, so the background explains what is being done to the image and the mathematical principles behind the software.
I also wanted to show all the channels before and after the mathematical transformation, so one could see (almost) instantaneously the changes to the matrices and the final image by applying different values for the gamma parameters, RX, RY, GX, GY.
I will post an "executable" of the program for others to test after I learn how to do that.
The text of the equations in the picture is a bit too small to read, so here it is.
MATHEMATICAL PRINCIPLES:
Original full-spectrum image is (R,G,B) = (Z1,Z2,Y)
Let Z1=(1-(1-X1)^(1/RX))*(1-Y)+(1-(1-Y)^(1/RY))*(1-X1)+X1*Y
To extract the Red channel, solve for X1 from known values of Y, Z1, RX, RY.
Let Z2=(1-(1-X2)^(1/GX))*(1-Y)+(1-(1-Y)^(1/GY))*(1-X2)+X2*Y
To extract the Green channel, solve for X2 from known values of Y, Z2, GX, GY
Derived IRG image is (R,G,B) = (Y,X1,X2)
To use these equations, reduce your pixels values to between 0 and 1. That is, divide Y, Z1, Z2 by 255 before plugging them into the equation. Multiply the derived X1 and X2 values by 255 to get your pixel value. RX, RY, GX, GY are somewhere between 1.0 and 5.0.
UPDATE September 5, 2010
I have a Version 1.2 using a new formula that I think is a better model.

SAN ANTONIO -- The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment, announced April 19 that several of Installation Management Command's installations and other U.S. Army installations were identified as net zero pilot installations as part of the Army's efforts to conserve precious resources such as energy and water and to eliminate waste to landfills.
Katherine Hammack, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment, made the announcement at the Installation Management Command Symposium held in San Antonio, Texas, April 19-21.
"The Army has identified six net zero pilot installations in each of the energy, water, and waste categories and two integrated installations striving towards net zero by 2020," said Hammack. "This is a significant step in addressing the Army's sustainability and energy security challenges. Striving for net zero is operationally necessary, financially prudent, and critical to our mission."
While only six installations were identified for each category, two IMCOM installations volunteered to pilot all three categories simultaneously. Fort Bliss, Texas, and Fort Carson, Colo., will focus on net-zero energy and water usage, as well as net-zero contribution of waste to landfills.
The following six installations were identified as net-zero energy installations: Fort Detrick, Md., Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, Calif., Sierra Army Depot, Calif., and West Point, N.Y.
The following six installations were identified as net-zero water installations: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Camp Rilea, Ore., Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Fort Riley, Kan., Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pa.
The following six installations were identified as net-zero waste installations: Fort Detrick, Md., Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., Fort Polk, La., Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and U.S. Army Garrison, Grafenwoehr, Germany.
Hammack said the installations will become centers of environmental and energy excellence as they participate in the Net Zero Installation Strategy programmatic environmental planning process, showcase best management practices, and demonstrate effective resource management. Further, they will establish a framework of reduction, re-purposing, recycling and composting, energy recovery, and disposal to guide them towards achieving net zero in an environmentally responsible, cost-effective and efficient manner.
The announcement initiates the programmatic environmental analysis and planning process for the Army's Net Zero Installation Strategy. Specifics for projects and initiatives will be determined through a programmatic environmental analysis which will include public engagement and stakeholder outreach."

Still from an animated illustration of the Fiscal multiplier effect for HNC business course..
The most important part of Aggregate Demand is Consumption. However consumers do not spend all their income- some is saved. National income can therefore be represented by the equation Y=C+S. As incomes rise so does consumption BUT savings also increase as a proportion of income.
A mans income rises by £100- He spends £80 and saves £20. This first retailer sees his income rise by £80- He spends £64 and saves £16. The second retailer sees his income rise by £64- He spends £41 and saves £10. The third retailer sees income rise by £51.
So in the above example an additional income of £100 causes a rise in spending of £226 after only 4 transactions!

What do you get when you add Waka-Waka, 50-plus kids, 60-plus 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team “Buddies,” and 190 Volunteers , throw-in a beautiful day then multiply all that by ‘a whole lotta fun?’ You guessed it – Vicenza’s first Exceptional Family Member Program Sports Day.
The event marks five months of a lot of hard work and coordination.
“I can go down a whole list of folks in the Garrison and in the community, but there are two people who made this day happen,” said Maj. Gen. David. R. Hogg, commander, USARAF. “Cara Tarr, the EFMP coordinator, and Loraine De Oliveira, the EFMP Sports Day Volunteer Coordinator, brought this day together after five months of planning -- so thumbs-up to them.
Tarr became emotional when asked what the day meant to her.
“It has been so much fun working with all the people and all with such big hearts,” Tarr said. “Most importantly, this day is for the kids and for them to know this day is for them and and see how much fun they’re having means everything.”
De Oliveira echoed Tarr’s sentiment.
“To see the community come together in this way has been amazing,” De Oliveira said. “We have volunteers from US Army Africa, Army Community Service, Vicenza Garrison, Italian Volunteers, and our community have come out to participate in this event – it has been a privilege to be a part of this,” she said.
Francesca Gheller, EFMP Volunteer who works with Vicenza Housing, said the day has dual meanings for her.
“My son, Paul Dorrity, was born today,” Gheller said. “He was a pilot with 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and was killed in a mission in Afghanistan fighting the war against terrorism – so I come today in his memory because he loved track and field and to honor all these children participating today.”
Hogg said looking around seeing these 173rd Soldiers volunteering is priceless.
“These Soldiers just got back from Afghanistan and are out here as ‘Airborne Buddies,’” Hogg said. “When you look at the work from the volunteers and the community to put this program together and have done an exceptional job – and it’s not just our American volunteers, it’s our Italian host nation community volunteering to be a part of this,” he said.
Activities continue through 3 p.m. today at the main track beside the Vicenza Army Medical Clinic.
