Sunset reflections along an metallic aircraft hangar building

Harder than I thought to get something I liked.....

#13/52, 52 weeks, the 2021 edition

Multiple exposures in Photoshop, then Silver FX for b&w.

A resident bird of the jungles and forests at higher altitude found in our neighbouring state. They were everywhere and unlike their common cousins, the common Myna, these birds are relatively quiet and mostly minding their own business.

We saw several in the forest we visited last week. Almost all of them were busy carrying food several times to their chicks. The nests were inside tree burrows - which we could see - but we could not see the chicks. The birds were quite wary as the area had lots of predators. We sighted several Malabar Pied Hornbills, Rufous Bellied Eagles, Hobby, Falcons etc... The Mynas were landing on multiple perches before going on to their nests so as to deter the predators.

Thank you so much in advance for your views and feedback.

I watched for almost an hour as this Green Heron repeatedly sent clouds of gulf menhaden into the air on Horsepen Bayou, each time diverting one down the gullet. This was one of the smaller explosions, but visually pleasing to my eye. I have no idea where he stuffed them all. Number two in the "Birds Eating Menhaden" series.

This item along with another wereleft behind when a family had moved after selling their home. I inquired about two large planters left behind and to my surprise they were available for the taking. It was as my lucky day. They needed cleaning up and of course watering. The different plants in the planter are fine living together. My concern was overcrowding the planter but they’re healthy and happy. Hey thanks for viewing my work. Stay safe and be kind. Remember to wash those 🙏’s.

Europe, the Netherlands, Noord Brabant, Eindhoven, Office building, Glass, Multiple reflections (slightly cut from all sides).

Inside an office building near Eindhoven station of which I alas didn't record the name. The friendly security staff allowed us to enter and take some shots.

This is number 283 of the Zwart/Wit album and 1041 of Minimalism / explicit graphism .

This image is in total contrast to our weather at the moment, as you can see on that day it was a howling gale but at the moment with high pressure in charge all is still and peaceful and 9c. There are so many different waves here all leaving there lovely trade make white lines behind as they retreat back into the maelstrom of the English Channel. This is at Ferring in West Sussex. Back from our night in Arundle where I shot a large number of images including a nice sunrise this morning.

While visiting The Tower of London this past October, we were blessed with a weather forecast that predicted a day of rain, yet it stayed dry. We were blessed that the crown jewels used in the funeral procession for Queen Elizabeth II had just been cleaned and placed back for display for our viewing the day before. We were blessed by the crowds that stayed away due to the off season and weather forecast. We were blessed with another day above ground and adventure. Everyone there that day received all of the above, maybe without notice.

I had an additional blessing of this fellow, a Magpie. My first, second and third encounter with this beautiful bird, especially in flight, came in the American west. I tried to get a good photo several times on those trips, to no avail. This fellow, scavenging the grounds of The Tower of London was use to the hoards of people who were required to stay on the pavement, providing it sanctuary in the grassy areas.

While others were posing with Beefeaters and photographing the amazing architecture and historic artifacts, I was stalking this guy. I have always known that God wired me differently, sometimes it shows.

This is a featheredge fence covered in algae, taken with the camera pointing downwards. And then I flipped it vertically. And then, for Sliders Sunday, I played with the colour sliders (Levels adjustment on individual RGB channels - that’s a new one for me :) ).

Well, that’s not exactly all.

It’s also an in-camera multiple exposure using three ICMs, the first two quite blurred, and Darken blend mode. To be honest this bit didn’t make a lot of difference apart from smoothing the lines.

I’ll post a link to the in-camera original for the ME/ICMs in the first comment.

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy 100x and Sliders Sunday!

... all of them leading to the weekend - TGIF!

I've got a pretty huge backlog of pics at this point, so I think I'll start multiple daily posts. This was taken at Castle Rock, which is also in Gove County Kansas. There are a few standalone formations like this one, but there is also a badlands area with extensively-worn rock cliffs. I thought that the best way to handle these was to go the monochrome route-- there's not much in the way of color, and the sky was cloudless.

Chicago & North Western AC4400CW No. 8809 leads a 96-car MDVRO 01 manifest freight through the "wiggle", a set of reverse curves between Kyune and Colton, Utah the afternoon of Oct. 2, 1999. A three-unit helper with Rio Grande tunnel motors is visible near the third curve.

The Chicago Apple store on MIchigan Avenue always yields something interesting to look at.

This is one of three juvenile tiger siblings that we sighted in Ranthambore National Park, India. It's rare to see multiple tigers because they are solitary animals that will sometimes fight to the death over territory. We sighted three at once because they are siblings still under the protection of their mother. Male tigers have very large territories and can have multiple tigress territories within their own. There are now about 70 adult tigers in the park, which once had numbers as low as 16 or 17. The area remained mostly wild because little of it is suitable for agriculture. Tigers have unique stripe patterns so they are tracked and monitored by motion-sensitive cameras.

—from Wikipedia

Ranthambore National Park was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955, initially covering an area of 282 km2 (109 sq mi). It was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1974. It was declared as a national park in 1980.
