Last puzzle from the multipack.
In general it was really a journey to enjoy, rarely poor quality can spoil the puzzle fun for me if I like the picture. This one I was able to sort only into border, sky and rest, so it has been assembled mostly by "hen" method - just picking the pieces one by one and finding a spot for them.
"Monaca" is not pronounced like "Monica." Rather, the stress goes on the middle syllable, and it rhymes with "alpaca."
A "quickie" is a brief sex act.
We are expected to understand that there is only one Quickies Food Store here at this site, not multiple Quickes Food Stores, despite what the sign says.
Weirdly, the actual name of the business on its building is "Mamula's Mini Mart," and a Google or DDG search for "Quickies Food Stores" turns up zero exact matches as of July 2022.
My favorite part of the sign is the black plastic rectangle of the "FOOD STORES" portion.
Of the numerous businesses in the U.S. that sell refrigerated multipacks of hot dogs, most do not routinely advertise the price on roadside signs, nowadays.

Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon, but I put it down to the bad weather. Then as I was leaving I saw a bus from Romford emptying of about 15 yute outside the petrol station on New Road - [scene missing while I answered my phone] - and the next thing I saw was the lot of them running away from the forecourt and back onto the estate clutching multipacks of quavers. You just don't get class like that in inner London.

Tesco may have disappointed with its lack of continuity with its Majorette range but it appears in a VERY unexpected move Toys R Us have decided to run with it and initial impressions are very good! They have a very sizeable section devoted to brand new batch Majorette from mainline singles, Premium singles, Limited Edition singles, trucks, buses and various multipack sets all displayed neatly on pegs and in good quantities. Of course being Toys R Us they have arrogantly charged all their Majorette range at slightly inflated prices though thankfully to enough to put me off. I already found plenty of these Burnt Orange coloured Jaguar F-Type models over the last eight months at Tesco but just couldn't resist getting this on my last visit to Toys R Us. Who can resist the sheer quality and realism of this diecast with its flawless finish and opening features not to mention fully detailed lights, grille and badging. The Matchbox equivalent is rightly sought after by collectors including myself but just can't hold a candle to this one which is sheer perfection for a pocket money diecast! Mint and boxed.

Yesterday afternoon I went out in search of a multipack of Sharpie pens. Recently I had started using one again after reading a thread about them on FriendFeed. I had a pack & used one a long time ago, but at that time I was into pens with a finer line, like my favorite Sakura Pigma Micron 01s. But after I rediscovered the Sharpie pens, their thicker line started to grow on me. Anyway, in the FriendFeed thread (editor's edit: I think!) I had read about the 4-packs with black, blue, red, and green. I went out in search of the 4-pack, but found something better -- a 6-pack with orange and purple included! :) You all probably know my favorite color is purple, so this was quite a find for me. :) Hopefully when I test the colors below, none of them look bad. I'd read some complaints that the blue pens had some inconsistent shades. Anyway, here is a color test...
blue - not bad, nice slightly peacock shade (at least in the current lighting)
red - also not bad, would've preferred darker
green - I don't usually like green, but this is nice & bright
orange - I'm also not a big fan of orange, but again the clear brightness of the shade is good
purple - Cool, the deep purple shade I was expecting!
Looks like I spent my money well. :D
=====
Editor's note: the picture above doesn't quite illustrate the bright transparency of the green and orange shades, or the slight peacock shade of the blue. I was too lazy to try to get closer to the original colors.
While better known as a Heavy Rescue, this Mack was part of a themed five pack.
Custom details include (somewhat sloppy) paint marker on the lights, rear window, and air horn.
I think I'm going to carefully remove the "7" sticker that I added many years ago.
This one is easily in my top five, of all time, and my absolute favorite 5-pack.

A casting hardly ever out of the line up recently with various new mainline singles and multipack releases. I do like the casting but all bar its premium release have to make do with acres of bleak unpainted grey plastic! Mint and boxed.

Autobuses de Oriente, S.A. de C.V. (Autobuses of the East, Inc.; usually known as A.D.O.) is one of the most important Mexican bus companies, running first-class and executive-class buses. It was founded with six buses on December 23, 1939 on the route Mexico City-Puebla-Perote-Jalapa-Veracruz. Its first buses were Bentley Continentals. It was not an easy beginning. In 1939 there was relatively little demand for transport, the roads were dangerous, there were no terminals or repair shops. Each of the founding partners had to serve as driver, baggage handler, mechanic, administrator, etc.
Initially the company covered only the one route, but in the 1950s it added a route to Villahermosa. Other cities served today include Cancún, Oaxaca, Campeche, Cuautla, Huatulco, Mérida and Coatzacoalcos. In Mexico City A.D.O. serves the T.A.P.O. (Terminal de Pasajeros de Oriente) station.
A.D.O.'s motto since 1939 has been Siempre primera (Always first), because it has always used the most modern buses possible, such as the DINA Avante, the DINA Olímpico and the DINA Flexible "Jorobado". At the present time the line uses Mercedes Benz, Volvo or Busscar buses, painted silver with a red wave the length of the bus containing the letters "ADO" in white.
A.D.O. GL (Gran Linea) is the executive class (luxury) service of A.D.O. The company also runs Autotour, a charter bus service, and Multipack, a package express service.
I have always loved collecting lower end Far Eastern diecasts as I think they can have a lot of character plus they have modelled more unusual vehicles. The biggest problem though is that identifying the actual manufacturer can prove very difficult with so many copies, shared castings and many different brand names!
I already have a lot of these Ford Transit MK3 models but all so far have been sold under HTI's Teamsterz brand. I already suspected that HTI only imported these unlicensed castings rather than manufacture them but never knew who by. I bought this in a set of 5 vehicles from an Ebayer seller who imports directly from China. They are sold in individual boxes clipped to a plastic tower and are sold under the Serox Mini Wheeler name. They could possibly be the manufacturer but to confuse matters the Serox name also appears on some Sohbi multipacks I bought recently. None of these "TEAMSTERZ" castings appear on the Sohbi website so they probably didn't make them either. Internet searches for Serox Diecasts does bring up various pics of models though no website. It now appears these and the Dickie Toys and HTI badged equivalents are made by a company called Daxiang who are also subcontracted to make Russian themed castings for Technopark.
Mint and boxed.

This has all the hallmarks of an elderly owner, the high level rear lights which have been placed (rallycross style) in the boot being one of the largest signs! The Estate model is a lot more uncommon than the hatchback these days, but I think the saloon is perhaps the rarest of all the 323 varients. The blue pinstripe down the side of this one actually suits it, funny to think it was once all the rage within dealers to add stuff like that to cars, yet another feature which will unlikely ever be resurrected. Are the wheel trims on this original? Very similar to the ones fitted to the Maestro.

Four clocks on the wall say the time in London, Paris, New York.... and Alicante. The middle of an unseasonal heatwave, and walking through the airport gives us the unreal feelings of a holiday, but we can't agree whether it's feelings of arriving back, or just departing. Ian brings out a multipack of Wispa bars. I don't partake, but Jonny says that it "really hits the spot". Shirley texts to ask if she should watch Saving Private Ryan on TV. The lights of a multistory carpark. Turned away from the toilets, because the airport is already shutting down for the night, told to use the disabled ones instead. Metal shutters come down behind the bar, guarding bottles of cheap rosé wine. And on the bus back, we sit upstairs above the heater, and it's unbearable. (Cai)
Obviously I'd known when it was drawn that this was gonna be an odd one. But it still felt like a form of surprise, that yes; going out to the airport for a pint, for no reason other than being there, and then going home, feels different to grabbing a pint before flying off somewhere. I'd not been to the toilet yet; when they started the process of closing! It was about 9! I wandered off, and came across Cai in the corridor near the facilities. He warned that a woman was cleaning the toilets, and that the disabled one was locked. On the 35 bus home, we sat upstairs at the back, right on top of some sort of engine or heater. It was uncomfortable, and we stupidly sat there for most of the journey. A long, snaking journey, through the outskirts, the city centre, and finally to our destinations. (Jonny)
We went to the airport for a drink; a bit random but the draw process threw it up! It was Friday evening and by the time we arrived, approx.8pm, it felt as though the smart traveller had gained an early exit. The bar was bereft of punters and the staff shuffled around uncomfortably trying to busy themselves. The flight information screens were processing the final flights - I remember marvelling at their strict order and ability to disappear in the blink of an eye. By this time it struck me that the staff were trying to shoe us of the premises - a telepathic chain of thought saw us diligently catch the LRT no.35 bus back to the city. I felt slightly deflated at leaving the airport and not flying off to some exotic location. (Ian)
Here's Princess Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka - bow!
She's finally with me! :D
I wish they made Latara and Wickett's and Teebo's cartoon versions, too. Even if I had to buy another multipack to get them.
