World Tour 2013 - 2014 - day 277
My goal being traveling the old fashion way, without any plane, I decided to leave Asia to Africa by boat. For that I embarked in Port Klang, Malaysia, on a freighter boat from a french company, CMA-CGM. The 350m long vessel was coming from Shanghai and were bound to go to Italia by Suez canal. I aimed to leave at Djibouti but since this stop was not possible I would leave at Port-Said, Egypt, just at the end of Suez Canal.
On this picture the vessel is in the middle of Suez Canal, navigating toward Mediterranean Sea. This small shuttle came against the vessel there external pilot who had embarked earlier in Suez to help for the maneuver. He helped for the beginning of the canal but another one will assist the vessel team for the arrival in Port Said.
In each halt, a local pilot comes onboard in aid for the maneuver since each harbor is specific. The funny thing in Suez Canal is that it is almost necessary to give him a cigaret multipack and in addition to that it is mandatory to let a small bazaar being installed on the deck during the time of the canal drive through. Later, in Egypt, I will discover the ultimate bakchich mastering, on the same level as Djibouti.

Discount Starlette featuring Junior Saber...
I always liked the original Idolmaster games short brunette Miki more than the long blonde that became standard ... but I also like the pink diamond outfit.... hence this mish-mash.
No L-bust DDS in my inventory, so had to use a generic gold halter-top. Also no extreme posing, because the outfit is extremely fragile, and I didnt want to damage it any more than needed.
Junior wasnt allergic to LED lights, so had the cheap multipack bulbs, and also swapped between the Tokina and Nikon 35mm DX lens to keep things inconsistant.

The longtime Pathmark of Bridgeport, CT was originally opened as a ShopRite as announced in this Grand Opening ad in March, 1967. A few years later, Supermarkets General would leave the Wakefern/ShopRite cooperative, creating the Pathmark brand name and converting its 65 ShopRite supermarkets to the new brand.
The Bridgeport store, along with Middlesex, NJ and the Elmora store in Elizabeth, was one of those 65 original ShopRite Supermarkets which broke away from Wakefern to form Pathmark.
At one time, Supermarkets General operated 9 Pathmark Super Center stores in Connecticut. In 1993, Pathmark converted most of its Connecticut supermarkets to its Pathmark Super Drug format, which removed fresh foods and reduced dry grocery, while heavily expanding its health, beauty, photo and non-foods departments. It also removed the drop-ceilings in a section of the store, adding warehouse shelving stocked with wholesale-club multipacks, as was the rage in the mid-90's. The format was meant to mimick the new hybrid drug stores like Pharmor, Xpect Discounts and Drug Emporium, which were expanding in the Northeast. The Bridgeport store was never converted to a Super Drug, and closed in 1996. National Wholesale Liquidators operated here until their bankruptcy in 2009, at which time PriceRite snapped up the location as their second Bridgeport store, returning the store to the Wakefern family after 41 years.

Well I had given up on ever finding a store in the U.K. near me that sold modern Majorette singles. I havn't been able to buy them in literally years apart from a few overpriced ones on Ebay. Imagine my delight when I visited my local Toyland today and discovered they have a big range of modern Majorette models. Singles and multipacks. Needless to say I bought one or two! ;-). This Renault Twingo is just how I remembered Majorette, modern European vehicles well cast and detailed. Thankyou Toyland! Mint and boxed.

I made two versions of this card because I couldn't tell if I liked the pearls or not. I finally grew a brain and realized that I didn't have to choose - I could just take a photo of the card with pearls and then pop 'em off and take a picture without! I'm curious as to what others think. If you have an opinion on which you prefer, Please let me know!

Another rainy day at work so Edna and I sat in the car at lunchtime. We did a bit of reading, played a little DS, listened to happy songs and drank cola.

Finally after three years U.K. collectors get the chance to buy new colour variations of the Majorette Audi A1. Thanks to Tesco its now possible to buy quite a nice range of 2016 Majorette models in multipacks and Premium singles. This blue A1 is part of the Premium range though in truth it doesn't differ at all from the red ones you can still buy in Toyland for less than half the price in terms of quality, detailing or working features and this one costs two pounds! What you do get though is a very capable little diecast which blows most of its similar priced competition out of the water plus a very impressive package design with its own folded up poster inside. Mint and boxed.
Day 13 - Dropping things again!
This is one of my favourite chocolates. Good job they don't do multipacks or I'd be even fatter than I already am!

An American Flag and a bald eagle all in the same shot??
WARNING: This picture may cause Patriotgasms.
As a kid I had all the figures pictured here except for Deep Six and Roadblock.
Spirit was and remains a favorite character. He wears his ethnicity on his sleeve far more than does that other guy (Airborne). In the cartoon he took the place of Snake Eyes as Storm Shadow's rival because the writers of the cartoon weren't quite clever enough to figure out how to make a rivalry between a mute guy and a ninja compelling. You know that Spirit is a badass if he can hold his own against Storm Shadow. They wrote Spirit almost like he was a Jedi sometimes "I felt your presence", etc. Having a bald eagle for a pet is probably illegal, since last I checked they were an endangered species, bringing one to war with you, is probably more so. However, in the comics it was always a little ambiguous as to if Freedom was really a pet in the formal sense, or just an animal he had bonded with and tended to follow him around.
MIA:
1) Cutter: Love the character, but was on the fence about getting the 3 pack he was sold in.
2) Ripcord: Couldn't afford the multipack he was sold in when it came out.
3) Recondo: see my above comment !
4) Thunder: Didn't want or couldn't afford the vehicle he came with. Incidentally, Thunder is the "Grand Slam" of this crew. A forgettable character because he was never featured much in cartoon or comic form, even though his figure is a pretty cool one. It's amazing that there even is a modern version of him made. I swear someday I will collect all these unloved characters, form them into a special team, and give them the most amazing storyline ever so people will give a damn about them.
This is a reshoot of a photograph I originally took back in January 2011. I was never completely happy with it - it was a can from a Multipack and had more sauce than beans at the bottom.
So, I reshot it last weekend as it was my fifty-seventh birthday and Heinz Meanz 57! Much happier with this result, but not so happy with the new age...
Here are my modern "25th Anniversary" style Cobras based on figures that originally debuted in 1986.
The Monkeywrench and MotorViper .....err I mean "NitroViper" are technically from the 2009 "Rise of Cobra" movie line. Hasbro would sometimes sneak figures into that line that they never got around to doing in the 25th line. Serpentor is from the DVD battles set, and is more accurate to the vintage version than the one released on a card. The Air Chariot came in a small vehicle 2 pack with the Armadillo mini tank, I think I traded away the lackluster repaint of Serpentor that came with it. The B.A.T.s were sold carded and were recently given to me by a friend.
MIA: Zarana: Was never sold in stores. There were 2 versions released, A standard version, and a "Cold Slyther" version. I think both were SDCC exclusives, which is why I don't have either.
Thrasher: Was sold in an online exclusive set of Dreadnoks. These things have a knack for coming out at times when I'm too broke to buy them- oh wait.... that's most of the time!
Zandar: See my answer above.
Dr. Mindbender: Again another figure that was only released in an online exclusive multipack. Alas, such was the fate of many of the '86 and post '86 Joes and Cobras, as the 25th anniversary line didn't focus on many characters beyond ones up to 1985.
K.I.A. : Serpentor: Killed off by Zartan, King Harold style, with an arrow through the eye.
