Members of the Virginai Defense Force conduct a point of distribution exercise Nov. 3, 2018, in Blackstone and Crewe, Virginia, during a multi-day training assembly based at Fort Pickett. VDF members also conducted evaluations on communication and incident management teams as well as set up and operation of mobile communication platforms, and they also conducted a variety of professional development sessions for officers, noncommissioned officers and enlisted personnel. The VDF is authorized by the Code of Virginia as the all-volunteer reserve of the Virginia National Guard. They are a force multiplier and integrated into all VNG domestic response operations. Calhoun Cycle hosted the Brompton US Championship • 2013 and over the weekend of the event there were a variety of rides.
This picture is from the Multi-Modal Ride. This was a 26 mile ride that left from Calhoun Cycle and went up the Mississippi River to the Coon Rapids dam for lunch and then went up to the Coon Rapids NorthStar commuter train for a train ride back into Minneapolis.
Shortly after this photo was taken, these bikes roared past me and disappeared down the road at well over 100 MPH. Minutes after that, I got a speeding ticket for 67 in a 45. In the middle of nowhere. On my honeymoon. The Ranger/Trooper did not make a new friend that day.

Gibraltar - 6th September 2015 - The Kaiser Chiefs saw a capacity crowd see them perform for the first time in Gibraltar.
The Gibraltar Music Festival continued into its second and last day with performances from Kings of Leon,Kaiser Chief, Ella Henderson, Rae Morris, Maddess, OMI and James Bay among others. The festival was held at the Victoria Stadium with three main stages seeing performances from local and international artists in a multi million pound mega concert at the British overseas territory of Gibraltar.

The blocks of flats next to the Gateshead Highway were demolished last summer. For a few weeks when the grey cladding had gone but the concrete remained, they were a window onto the individual and multi-coloured lives that once lived inside, and the light that shone through them took on kaleidoscope hues, like a stained glass window.

Built in 1941-1943, this Art Deco-style factory was designed by architect John Henri Deeken for the Strietmann Biscuit Company as a factory to produce baked goods. It replaced the earlier Strietmann Factory in Over-the-Rhine, which was initially built in 1899 and had been expanded multiple times, but no longer was well-suited for more modern methods of production and had limited space to expand, which became an increasing issue after Strietmann’s acquisition in 1927 by the United Biscuit Company. The building is clad in buff brick and extends 1,450 feet to the rear, with roof monitors featuring gabled roofs, clad in corrugated metal and large expanses of windows, with the sides and rear of the building featuring brick pilasters and large window bays, most infilled with brick, and a concrete base. The most architecturally significant portion of the building is the highly detailed front office wing at the building’s west end, which is clad in the same materials as the rest of the building, but features recessed brick reveals that accentuate the horizontality of the building and visually highlight the window bays on the front facade, bays flanked by pilasters with decorative aluminum spandrel panels featuring bushels of wheat between the first and second floor windows at the corners of the building, with the bay on the building’s north facade having been obscured due to a newer addition on the north side, decorative brickwork at the parapet, which is topped with a stone cap, stone caps on the pilasters, stone sills, and a taller entrance tower with a Kellogg’s sign mounted atop the roof, below which there is a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet with a multi-tier stone cap, pilasters below the corners of the roof, an Art Deco-style minimalist clock face over the second-story windows, decorative cast aluminum screens heavily utilizing a wheat motif that looks a bit like a stylized “K” at the three narrow second-story windows, a front door flanked by two fluted curved walls clad in stone, with the aluminum double door and transom featuring more of the same cast aluminum screens as above, utilizing the same wheat motif, and a set of concrete front steps flanked by two stone bases that are presently occupied by decorative urn planters. Inside the original front entrance to the building is a very intact historic Art Deco lobby with an original chandelier, twin staircases with cast aluminum railings featuring panels with the same wheat motif as the outside, a terrazzo floor with decorative inlays, a wooden Art Deco-style cabinet, and polished marble paneling and wainscoting. The building is one of the finest examples of Art Deco in the Greater Cincinnati area, and is an excellent example of the style as applied to an industrial facility, along with Deeken’s other significant work, the former Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Cincinnati, which is a building that is of equal design quality and significance.

YES! I am wearing the same thing as yesterday. And here is why: We drove to Pomona for James' American ceremony last night. As we arrived near midnight at the hotel (45 miles away) I realized I left the dress at home. So I had to wear the same clothes 2 days in a row. ick. Glad it wasn't a groddy t-shirt.
