Day 49: Friday, February 18, 2011: Puddle reflection

This is a humble mud puddle in our driveway (well, not VERY humble. It's rather huge and gets a pretty high opinion of itself after a good rain, really), rippled up in a blustery wind, with a cloudy sky and a bare oak tree reflected in it. We went out to the mailbox between showers and felt a little smug and very pleased with ourselves when it started pouring five minutes after we got back. Then I realized -- dun-dun-DUNNNN -- that I had to venture out into the rain to get firewood. That's what I get for smugness, I guess.

A friend brought her year old Great Dane, Bentley, over for a visit, and he could not resist the delicious mud puddle offering at the edge of my driveway.

ET was one of my favorite movies when I was a teenager. :) I had posters and little figurines and everything. Wouldn't it be cool if there were extraterrestrials that they would be like ET? I think that would be amazing.

I like this shot because it looks like he is standing by a lake or something, but actually it is just a mud puddle. :D
