Merseyside PTE only had a handful of Leyland Olympians prior to its demise in 1986 and it was a further nine years before Volvo Olympian N275 CKB was delivered in cream/maroon livery to successor company MTL. So this PTE verona/cream/brown livery is very much a might-have-been but does look absolutely superb IMHO.

MTL Lancashire Travel 2398 (KYV 398X) a Leyland Titan seen operating a 114 service at Warrington back in 1995.
Another of the former Tyne & Wear (via London) Metrobuses which operated from St Helens. Looking rather better than 0017 and heading along The Strand towards Mann Island.
