MTL North 6608 (N608CKA),a 1995 Wright Endurancer-bodied Volvo B10B-58. Seen at Paradise Street Bus Station, Liverpool, April 1999
I thought twice about posting this shot as it's a bit grainy. Then I thought, why not, people seem to like it! Sitting in Whitechapel in Liverpool city centre operating service 488 to Ness Gardens is this National which was new to MPTE as its 1884, renumbered to make way for Atlanteans (I think).
At the other end of the Atlantean spectrum is 1061. None of the early Alexander Atlanteans received the ivory livery. This example was relatively unusual in wearing MerseyRider (low cost unit) names.

Praktica MTL 50 with Pentacon f2.8/29mm
A really nice combination for landscape and street photography. TTL exposure metering in combination with shutter speeds up to 1 / 1000s open up a wide range of possibilities.
The Niagara Falls are voluminous waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York.
MTL 750, Delaine No. 47, 1958 Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/2 / Yeates Europa DP43F. new April 1958, sold to Vagg, Knockin Heath August 1969.
This vehicle was rescued by Delaines' in 1982 from Vagg's premises after it had been out of use for some years. It was subsequently donated to Leicester Museum of Technology, who undertook an extensive restoration.
Numerically the first of this smart batch of 25 Mk2 Metrobuses. Taken with an old 35mm camera, hence the distortion. Worth it for the Gillmoss line up in the background!
The second open top Atlantean to operate with Southport & District in the pleasant Corporation inspired open top livery. A third Atlantean was 1551, although I don't have a picture of it.
Transferred in from St Helens (hence the Lancashire Travel fleetname) to Green Lane in order to operate the duplicate services designed to cause Liverbus to buckle. It worked and MTL took over Liverbus (including London Suburban Bus) in April 1995. Just noticed that the Atlantean behind has MTL Manchester names. Would've been a recent transfer back to Green Lane after peace broke out.
Wirral Bus & Tram Show. The final Atlantean delivered to MPTE, preserved in MTL Wirral Peninsula livery, leaving Woodside bus station.
MTL + Pentax 67 + Takumar 105mm + Ilford Hp5 400
Seen in Bootle, passing the Strand Shopping Centre. The impressive full blinds were clearly not ready for this bus. There was some switching of buses, this example being a transfer from Gillmoss to Green Lane.
St Helens Rider was a low cost operation running from Jackson Street garage. It used the colours of the former St Helens Corporation although it wasn't to last very long. This is a former Cambus Optare StarRider seen in the rather freeform St Helens Bus Station of the mid 1990s.
A former London Northern Scania operating for MTL subsidiary Fareway in 1996. This version of the F1 service was nicknamed the "fix".
Alexander Atlantean 1003 A323GLV new to MPTE Seaview Road by the time this picture was taken she was an Arriva bus and due to be withdrawn shortly after this picture. The location is Woodside. The bus is now preserved by Terry Morris and is resplendant in Merseybus verona green and jonquil cream.
