This Praktica MTL 3 35 mm camera was manufactured by VEB Pentacon in Dresden from 1978 onwards. It is very solidly built and a total of almost 870,000 units were produced, making it extremely popular. With its bright and relatively large viewfinder image, it can still be used well today, especially since it has an M42 lens mount, which can still be found in large numbers on the second-hand market. My model is equipped with a Tessar lens, the famous ‘eagle eye’ with 50 mm and 2.8 from Carl Zeiss Jena. Everything still works perfectly and the lens is also in good condition.
