Stunning views of Mt Cooks South Face from the deck of Mueller Hut (1810m). Sometimes known as the highest backpackers in New Zealand, such is its popularity with overseas travellers. Not hard to see why on a day like this!
I’m uploading 6 photos of Mt. Hood I took today. They can all be viewed large. I hope you enjoy them. They were taken on US-26 west heading downhill. Mt. Hood was behind us as we went down the Mountain.
Mount Hood (45.4N, 121.7W) is the tallest mountain in Oregon (11,237 feet, 3,426 m) and popular with skiers, hikers, and climbers. It is 45 miles (75 km) east-southeast of Portland, Oregon.
I've lived in Oregon since 1987 and have admired Mt Hood from a distance but this is the first time I've been this close. Paul is working on a project here so Ruby and I tagged along. Cooper got to go to our friend's where he can play with her schnoodles.
Government Camp is at 4,000', the spot where this photo was taken is at 6,000', and elevation of Mt Hood is 11,250'.
I hiked from Aix-en-Provence to Le Tholonet one sunny afternoon and Mt. Sainte Victoire appeared at the top of a hill. Artist Paul Cezanne painted this mountain over eighty times, and it's easy to see why!

Just the imposing Mt Shasta on a gorgeous blue sky of a backdrop. Not much snow, this being the end of summer, but still a very nice place to be :)

A wee gem - the product of lots of hard work, there was a community project to reinstate a hut on Mt Brown. The result is outstanding.
Looking north from Mt Denmarsh down Black Jack Gully to Mt Coopracambra. Mount Denmarsh is part of Coopracambra National Park.
Driving along Mt Bullion Ridge Road (Mariposa, CA) I came around the corner and there, out of the central valley, was a fog filled space full of pink fog and an amazing setting sun....no one saw it except those of us sitting at 4000 ft.

We woke up to light rain coming and going. Which is pretty much how the whole day went. Here it wasn't raining we were standing, but you can see it was on it's way!
