Instead of driving home from Lucasville on 4-lane US 23 this afternoon, I took some backroads and saw the schoolhouse on Mt. Hope Road in Scioto County, Ohio. It was used from 1882 until 1936.

My wife and I took a drive up Mt. Hamilton last July to enjoy the day and a nice, curvy road. Stopped partway back to take a few photos. X-Pro2 with 50-140mm, mostly.
I had researched and wrote down (on my phone) all the places I wanted to go at Mt. Rainier based on photos on flickr, maps and location, etc. I ended up going to none of them. Hah go figure. Well maybe one, but that was the Paradise area which was more a tourist stop than scenery. So instead of a beautiful view of green fields and a lake with Mt. Rainier reflected in the water, here's this black and white image.

This tree (on the right) is the reason I took this hike. It can be seen from down below on campus and has always looked pretty nice. Turns out that the viewing angle from campus is about the best angle you can get of this tree, and this was the only decent composition I could find while up on the hill. But there was plenty of other scenery to make it a great hike otherwise.
Volcanic Mt. Iliamna, 46 miles west across Alaska's Cook Inlet. This shot was taken from a bluff on the Kenai Peninsula near Happy Valley, a bit north of Homer.

Eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines on June 12, 1991. These photos were taken from Clark Air Base eight miles from the mountain.

Mount Canobolas, at an elevation of 1,395 metres above sea level, is the highest mountain in the central tablelands district of New South Wales, Australia.
The mountain is of volcanic origin. The northern slopes of the mountain, with fertile volcanic soil, are becoming a popular cold-climate wine producing area. The top of the mountain is now dominated by numerous towers used for television and radio transmissions across large areas of central New South Wales. These transmitters include towers for Airservices Australia, Royal Australian Air Force, Prime Television, WIN Television, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Southern Cross Ten.
