OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA. I made a smaller copy of the original photo and dragged it on top of the original larger copy in PS as a layer. I reduced the opacity top layer to 50 % and moved the layer around until I got this converging pattern and changed the blending mode.
...not me! The theme for Me Again Monday is 'I like to move it, move it!' As you see, I'm not moving at all but I'm sure this door connected to an old warehouse has experienced plenty of moving in and out over the years.

These beauties float around the flowers now and then, but normally fly off if I move toward them. But on this day, the nectar must have been especially good, or something, since this butterfly paid no attention to me.

Covid Day 4: The symptoms seem easier than yesterday, at least for me. Last night I think I rounded a corner with chills and sweats.
The weather is glorious. This afternoon I moved onto the back patio to write. Danny joined me for a little while with the raglan sweater he is knitting. This was a real treat, as the patio was torn up for most of May. Life could be worse, but it isn't.

SVRR 6512 and SVRR 5940 head northbound over a trestle in Verona, Virginia, as they continue their morning work.
UP 5898 and passenger special has come to a stop here in Bootlegger Canyon to set up for an official corporate photo op. The Cane Creek Subdivision was built between August 1961 and the end of 1962 by the Denver and Rio Grande Western. While no (public) passenger train ever traveled on the branch under Rio Grande, I am not sure if the railroad ever ran an officer's special train down the branch. It is certainly possible that this is the first time in history that a passenger train has run through Bootlegger Canyon!

There are many times I visit the Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern only to see trains parked and no sign of movement. Days like this one keep me coming back, though, when the light is right and the railroad decides to run a train. The daily westbound Tracy to Huron manifest blasts out of Tyler, Minnesota behind four SD40-2s.
CSX 8840 and 470 take the M702 down out of Oak Point Yard through Harlem River Yard as the car inspector performs a roll by. As soon as the train comes to a stop the car inspector will perform one last roll by inspection and the train will be underway up to CP8 and wait for clearance onto the Hudson Line.
This is when I actually noticed the deer moving along. It looks like one, but they are together. I wish I'd had a longer lens with me, as the deer were taking their time about it! Again, zoom in to center frame.
Recently moved to AZ - all the cacti are in full bloom. These flowers last a very short time,, so went out to photograph a few before they died.

Recorded at Narroways Hill Junction in July 1997, RES liveried EWS 47761 climbs away from Bristol at the head of the 5S09 afternoon empty TPO mail vans from Bristol, Barton Hill to Cardiff. The locomotive and stock would later work the evening Cardiff to Glagow Mail.

Battle of Britain: 32 Squadron at the Hump. A Hawker Hurricane being refuelled by the Biggin Hill fuel bowser. The fuel trucks were part of the airfield establishment rather the squadrons operating out of the airfield. Biggin Hill was a crucial part of the air defence of London as was thus subjected to a series of heavy air raids between 18th August and 5th September, all is tall the buildings being put out of the action and the landing ground littered with craters and unexploded munitions. The Luftwaffe's switch to attacking London on 7th September offered some respite. 32 squadron was moved to Acklington on 30th August to rest. As I wanted to make a drawing to commemorate the 80th anniversary I chose this scene to give credit to the often neglected ground crew that made flying operations possible. While it concentrates on the fuel crew another "erk" can be seen under the wing replenishing the oxygen bottle.

Stuck inside but not complaining. Finally moved our personal belongings up here to Big Bear Lake, where we will be living during this pandemic. Sold our condo in San Diego last month and escrow is closing April 1st. Hindsight, we would not have moved if we knew this was going to happen. Oh well....time for a new adventure. No more city scapes and modern architecture but the quietness and serenity up here is far superior. Hope everyone stays inside as much as possible and stays healthy!
