I first ventured out to shoot the BC Rail heritage unit on CN but noted the Wheeling was in Lang yard when I went by heading north but they were gone when coming back south. It turned out they were still in town so I aimed for the east side. They got hung up at Ironville for a CSX Northbound and the NS "Maumee puller" doubling up and heading south before they finally got the light. After a shot there I also aimed for the east end of Evans Yard for this shot of them rolling by the Oregon Water tower as they started to pick up speed to head down the NS Toledo District. Knowing they had the Wheeling's new anniversary unit on the point helped tease sticking out this adventure that started around midnight and culminated in this shot at 2:08AM. Oregon, OH 5/30/2021

The Brown Pelican in breeding plumage takes to the skies near La Jolla Cove, California. The brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) is a bird of the pelican family, Pelecanidae, one of three species found in the Americas and one of two that feed by diving into water. It is found on the Atlantic Coast from New Jersey to the mouth of the Amazon River, and along the Pacific Coast from British Columbia to Peru, including the Galapagos Islands.

Most normal people, after shooting a 12-hour wedding that saw them finish up at midnight....would go the hell to bed. But I had set up a creative shoot this evening with a 12:30AM start and the one thing I hate doing is cancelling on a creative shoot, despite how fried I was. So this happened tonight.

What this shot doesn't show is the literally hundreds of mosquitos buzzing around us. One of the worst I've ever seen.

SVRR 6512 and SVRR 5940 head northbound over a trestle in Verona, Virginia, as they continue their morning work.

CSX 8840 and 470 take the M702 down out of Oak Point Yard through Harlem River Yard as the car inspector performs a roll by. As soon as the train comes to a stop the car inspector will perform one last roll by inspection and the train will be underway up to CP8 and wait for clearance onto the Hudson Line.

Stuck inside but not complaining. Finally moved our personal belongings up here to Big Bear Lake, where we will be living during this pandemic. Sold our condo in San Diego last month and escrow is closing April 1st. Hindsight, we would not have moved if we knew this was going to happen. Oh well....time for a new adventure. No more city scapes and modern architecture but the quietness and serenity up here is far superior. Hope everyone stays inside as much as possible and stays healthy!

She knew I was looking! :)

On an early spring morning a young Grey Wolf can be seen traveling by itself. It took note of the bison in the background as it kept on the move. I watched as the lone wolf traveled as like on a mission until it disappeared off into the distance.

Grey wolves disperse primarily to find new territories and mates, which is crucial for maintaining genetic diversity and preventing inbreeding. Dispersal, the process of leaving their natal pack, is a natural part of wolf behavior, especially for young wolves reaching sexual maturity. It helps them establish new packs and expand the wolf population's range.

This combined VIA Rail move was heading to Toronto's Union Station on a late Labor Day evening. I'm not familiar with combined trains coming from the west in Toronto, if anyone knows what trains they were, feel free to enlighten me!

MARC Camden Line train 851 was pushing through the Relay curves behind MP36PH-3C 18.

A quartet of high-level cars stuffed with air and maybe a half dozen humans marked the last DC bound commuter of the morning rush on the Camden Line.

In life, as in art, the beautiful moves in curves.

Today Melbourne rules have changed to allow more people back into workplaces, restaurants and other venues. We are on the move, getting back to something relatively normal in the sunshine. All the best to those who are still sheltering at home and with rising rates of infections. HMMM:)
