n a quiet street in santa catalina, the man stands across from the izakayita, lost in his phone. his reflection drifts in the restaurant’s glass, where a geisha waits silently inside. she watches, her figure half-hidden, her gaze lingering on a world that moves too fast to notice her. the street hums with life, but in this fleeting moment, the modern and the timeless meet—separated by a pane of glass, joined by the quiet weight of reflection.

One of the best BR two-tone green retro paint jobs was applied to Freightliner 47830 (D1645) 'Beeching's Legacy' at the time on-hire to ROG and was used on this Andrew Barclay Kimarnock to Laira T&RSMD GWR HST stock move back in April 2016.
* I joined the gallery at Red Bank blissfully unaware that it had missed out the Preston pathing stop and was 48 early at this stage. Adding to the drama, 4S43 the 'Tesco Express' was bearing down on us from behind ... phew!
Time to move on. This was actually taken at the end of August when the skies were just amazing. We've been seeing fabulous sunsets since Ike too. Looks like Fall is beginning to take a foothold and tomorrow is actually the first day of Fall.
This is probably going to be my last chance to comment to any extent since we don't have the interent available yet. I'll sneak a peak at work and you'll see an occasional photo and comment. Have a great week - and hopefully I'll be joining you this week on flickr again.
Bringing the maiden safely to the shore, he gazed into her eyes for but a moment. He did not know why he was compelled to save her. Walking up on the beach as the waves lapped at his lower legs he placed her upon the sand....
Continuing this brief series of cool sights I saw on a single morning outing to Grasslands, the park at my doorstep. These two Moose with their calves were a surprise; I tend to see moose more often in fall and winter. And last year there was considerable noise and commotion as contractors built a new bridge across the Frenchman River - resulting in many wildlife species, including moose, steering clear of the area until things settled down.
But.. they're ba-ack!
I'm so happy. They add an extra touch of wildness to the prairie landscape. Twenty-four years ago, when I first spent some extended time hanging out in this place, moose were a rare sighting. In the interim, they have arrived to occupy the valley, and other prairie locations, too; biologists are not sure why.
My theory? They find ample food and shelter here, where there are no natural predators, no hunting, and an abundance of peace and quiet. Essentially these are the same reasons I moved here full time in 2011. I'd like to think I'm smarter than the average moose. But maybe I'm not.

A deadhead move of the KCS business train from Shreveport to KC. The train was being positioned for a special run south out of KC for a women's soccer team that CPKC sponsors. Here the train is ambling along a dry Big Creek as it slices through this part of the Ouachita Mountains near the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma.

While I was playing with my daughter we both had good lessons, and for me it was that sometimes we need to make some changes in our daily routines and focus on what is important, so what would it be your next move in life?
This is George's take on the classic matrix move. I think he watches too much TV (no really, he does). In this photo he is jumping for sand. I don't know why he does it...when he catches a clump of sand he doesn't seem to enjoy it. But in any case, it makes him happy. :)
