The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

If you lay on the beach long enough, they will come! So close it's hard to focus. This little guy was about six feet away. Stone Harbor Point NJ.
As we move into spring, the delightful beech copper displays are starting to disappear slowly. Soon to be replaced by new buds and heralding a change of colour in the woods. Taken on a misty morning at the start of March in The Hangings, Whiteleaf, Buckinghamshire.
On Friday March 25th, it was decided to get some stored Metra equipment out of the city to better accommodate our track department as they embark on a tie project on the Elgin Sub this spring. One underutilized location is our Antioch Coach Yard, which with post-COVID schedules leaves us with some room to spare. Here's METX 11 pulling a dozen oldies north over the Fox Lake Sub diamond at Grayslake. The F40's are all older unrebuilt models that have ben pushed out of service since the coming of the Amtrak F59PHI's and were used primarily on the Union Pacific purchase of service lines.
not really a "traditional" post... but, I thought i would share anyway.
I spent the last day of my yearly vacation on the Montzen route. Starting the day in Sint-Martens-Voeren, I ended in Hoeselt.
At the very end of this last day of my yearly vacation, I could squeeze out shots of 2 more freights heading west. One of them being a train loaded with Move and Ewals containers, headed for Genk. The train is seen just south of Hoeselt.
Shoutout to Trainbelge, who I met in Hoeselt again, after meeting each other for the first time 1 week earlier in France.

For monochrome Monday....
When Mr. Lewis needed a barn for his large livestock herd,he thought "outside the box",and built a more efficient round barn which was on his family farm till the 1990's.At that time, the family decided for it to survive,it needed to be donated to an organization who would maintain it.It ended as a part of the Adams County,IL. fairgrounds along with many other historic subjects-an old one room schoolhouse and an old general store some examples...
The Lewis Barn is on the National Register of Historic Places...
