Looking north into Sabino Canyon at the end of the day.

Didn't spend much time on this. I screwed up the hyperfocal distance, and the image is out of focus. Ah, well.

Better large, nonetheless.

South of Alder Canyon Alison stopped me as we were hiking back towards the trailhead - she had spotted a Coati! As we became more aware of them we realized that there was a band of 20+ very close to the trail! Many climbed up trees - but eventually they began to come down and move away, but when we took a few more steps they became cautious again and 10+ ended up in this tree watching us! We stayed still and the they came down until only one remained in the tree: www.flickr.com/photos/cmiles/8606725330/in/set-7215763313...

Pretty interesting to note that Wes Noonan notes seeing a large band of Coati in this are in August 2012: www.flickr.com/photos/wesnoonan/7771319330/

Here is a picture from August 2009 - the first time I saw a band in the Catalina Mountains - www.flickr.com/photos/cmiles/3881418582/

Photos from a hike on Mount Lemmon. We went past the old radar station (now the UA Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter) and through Lemmon Park, then looped back on the power line road.

A trip up the Mount Lemmon Highway to Lemmon Park and Radio Ridge in late spring, 1979. The slides were stamped May, but I think processing of they must have been delayed while we were on vacation and they got out or order.
