Early morning is the only time when the air is breathable with contentedness. So, people make good use of this period and take a walk...

While I was just sitting on the ghats, looking at the strong show that Varanasi can be at 6 in the morning, that man stayed in that position more than half an hour.
The view from my balcony, it was very foggy that morning and during the sunrise it was absolutely amazing lighting, no photoshop editing...

It was really too late in the morning to be taking photographs, but with a cloud hugging the side of the mountain, I needed to try to capture this scene
Morning Glory Spring is a relatively small-sized spring with a great range of colors. Due to human activity, however, the color has faded in recent years. The main contributing factor is the coins visitors throw in, which decreases the temperature of the pool. Altering the optimal temperature at which those cyanobacteria lives in, the spring has completely lost the blue core.

I've been slowly reprocessing colour photos that I liked into BW.
For me personally, this one stands out for several reasons. One of which is that it was taken three days after Japan's huge earthquake in March of 2011. I can still distinctly remember my feelings around that time. The scale of the disaster was slowly becoming apparent. The numbers were massive - over 20 000 dead. I was in the mountains every morning during that time watching the sun come up beautifully each day. It left me with very conflicted feelings. During a national time of mourning, how is one to conduct oneself? Does life just go on? Should we be looking for the beautiful in each day?
For me, those mornings in the mountains were unforgettable and helped me get through the weeks that followed. I suppose we all find our own way during times of crisis. Photography and being outdoors was mine.
A morning at the pier has no stress, no pressure. Pier on Pewaukee Lake, WI.
Come follow me:
Morning light. Clean and pure. Shining like poilished glass. Sunlight dancing on water spray. So dazzling I squint to look beyond the splash. I sense winter leaving as he comes through the broken landscape. Leaving behind pain and memories. Frozen and forgotten.

Went down to the strait a bit earlier this morning.
Noted it was Monday, with some disturbing boat traffic, not to mention the traffic over the bridge.
The lanes leading to the mainland (not seen from here) was filled to the last spot.
