The morning sun on the sandstone splendour of the Royal Berkshire Hospital, which has been my home since Monday as I start a long journey to recovery from a rare leukaemia.
Taken during our road trip. We stayed with friends at Inverell. I woke to a frosty but sunny morning so escaped outside with my camera before anyone was up!
Whilst taking this photo, I was thinking of one under the sun!
It seemed like something you might photograph, Iza! :)

Whilst the sun is low in the sky, means you can capture more dramatic light without getting up at 6am. Nice.

A short morning mixed train on the East Broad Top Railroad negotiates the S-curves in Shirley Township, PA, as it makes its way south to the company's yards in nearby Rockhill Furnace. In addition to the usual manifest of passengers, newpapers and the mail, this morning trip is also bringing a few empty hoppers back from the Pennsy interchange yards in Mt. Union.
This image was captured during an October, 2023 photo shoot on the East Broad Top Railroad, organized by Lerro Photography and featuring the newly restored EBT Locomotive #16, which debuted early in the year after a 3-year restoration effort. The engine had not operated since the railroad shut down as a common carrier in 1956.

Photographed along the Homer Spit....it was such a beautiful morning, and we enjoyed taking a walk around the harbor, checking out all the boats and ships.
On the road quite a bit this week, so will have to catch up with everyone later. Have a great Thursday, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!

"Although there still lingered in his mind a faint and imperfect recollection of the events of the preceding night; just as the brain retains on waking in the morning the dim and misty outline of a dream." - The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

The early morning light gave the fog on a lake in Czechia a beautiful golden hue. With the fog muffling any sound, there was a peaceful stillness that could be felt as I stood on the shoreline. In the early hours few creatures were up and about. For most of my stay on the shore my only companions were the birds in flight and a lone fisherman leaving me undisturbed to enjoy the experience of the moment.
As clouds were rolling by they produced a beautiful sunrise which actually kept red for more than an hour
