I actually don't know the name for this pond but it was in the morning ;-) This was shot on the road to Red Rock Canyon in Waterton National Park, Canada.
For those interested, 'Crown of the Continent' is the title of an article in National Geographic this month about Glacier-Waterton. The link to the article is here.

One morning recently I took my tripod with me to try some longer exposure shots of the city in the morning and this is one of them I kind of liked with the little light trail of the water taxi

Morning fog in the spring is like an old friend. Welcoming you with sights and smells that transport you back to your youth. walking to catch the bus to school, navigating through the wispy, yet unnaturally thick haze. Not much has changed, just perspective. As you grow older, wiser, you begin to see that this Appalachian mist isn’t just an ordinary fog, no, indeed this is just a cloud that had lost some altitude. Resting heavy on the mountains bellow, crashing like waves in slow motion, weightless, but beautiful as the first rays of the morning light washes over, giving that morning embrace.

Thanks to Jim the Joker for sowing the seed on this one. A test shot for the main event, Vintage Train's 1Z95 'Cotswold Explorer' tour from Tyseley to Oxford. I ultimately didn't go for this one for the tour, but I know a man who did.

The morning fog hovers over Kentucky Creek, while further up the hill a fine new winter day is in the offing. This is a typical weather set-up for the lower foothills during this time of the year. Morning fog over the rivers, creeks, and the lowest spots in the valleys, giving way to a crisp clear day.
The rock walls have been around since the mid-19th century. They line the road going to and away from the Bridgeport Covered Bridge. This area was a small but vital part of the Virginia Turnpike, providing the only crossing over the South Fork of the Yuba during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Imagine, a pesky little river impeding the forward progress of a giant nation.

Sometimes a simple shot is the best. i remember this sunrise well, i had planned on getting the lighthouse at nobbies, but nothing was happening. So i pointed it straight at the sun and watched as the sun shone through the falling rain. Amazing
Also, i am too tired to continue editing an old film photo with heaps of dust on it :p
