This one's for my friends in California who think 49F is cold (ahem).

She doesn't look like a rascal does she? Just uploading a few shots of my brother's cats from our visit in Mariposa, CA in July, taken on an early morning walk around their property, keeping my eyes and ears open wide since this kitty apparently brought a baby rattlesnake home one day...

I loved the early morning light in the trees....i should get up early all the time ...

70021, "Morning Star", seen en route to Minehead at Blue Anchor for the West Somerset Railway's Spring Gala. The loco is actually 70000 "Britannia" but assumed the name of Morning Star for the "Steam in South Wales" Gala theme.

From a Memorial Day morning drive in the country. I almost missed this scene as it was tucked away on a bend in the road. Fortunately it was early morning so the traffic on this back country road was nonexistent. Gave me time to enjoying this lovely scene while I shot a few frames.

The sheep were staying warm in a sunny spot. They abandoned the shy act.

The snow fog adds a nice touch.

(It make a nice photo on canvas.)

The bright rays of the morning sun start to light up the trees and the day.

Sunset and sunrise can make for interesting black and white pictures as the light provides great contrasts and a multitude of different tones.

Commute scene at Stockholm with morning glow.

Morning light and shadows. Okay, I have seen this view probably a thousand times since I have lived across the road, and I have taken hundreds of photos of these buildings over the years in the morning sun, evening sun, stormy skies, etc. But they are so picturesque that I just had to take a dozen more shots this morning.

What a beautiful scenary we had in Karlstad this morning. Took this on my way to work.

The tide is high. The sticking logs are part of the tree (sometimes appears in my photos) showing only the top part. They're from one piece of tree. When the tide is low, whole the tree shows up.

An overcast and dull morning on the beach today, the Blue tinged low cloud contrasting with the warmer tones of the sand and grasses.

2 degrees Celsius with a keen breeze along the coastline, numb fingers made for a short visit.

Morning, Dune Shadows. © Copyright 2020 G Dan Mitchell – all rights reserved.

Sand dunes with blue-tinted shadows and scattered creosote plants in soft morning light.

As I usually do when photographing here, I arrived very early and began my walk out to a less-busy area of the dunes well before sunrise. The dawn and sunset transitions between night and day move quickly and, of course, present some of the most interesting visual opportunities. I photograph right though these transitional periods, often working quickly to try to take advantage of as many of the transient opportunities as possible.

When I look at this photograph I recall many things from this morning and others like it. The air is still and only hinting at the intense heat that will arrive later. As the first sunlight hits the tops of the dunes there is a striking contrast between the warm colors in the light and the blues in the shadows, where the light comes from the overhead bowl of the blue sky. As sun rises higher the light intensifies and the color gradually becomes less intense, providing new photographic opportunities.

Und weil es so schön war, bin ich am Ende meines Morgenspaziergangs ganz weit hinunter auf die Knie gegangen um diese herrliche funkelnde Wiese für euch einzufangen :)

And because it was so beautiful, I went down on my knees at the end of my morning walk to capture this beautiful sparkling lawn for you!
