MONUMENT A COLOM (VÍDEO): www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqlcXkQROiE

The Penshaw Monument was modelled on the Temple of Theseus in Athens (though its proportions and dimensions differ significantly). It is 100ft (30.5m) long, 53ft (16.2m) wide and 70ft (21.3m) high. Structurally the monument is composed of a 2 metre high base from which eighteen Doric columns rise, tapering up to a massive pedimental structure, with its roof open to the sky. Within one of the columns a spiral staircase ascends to the parapet.
