Adventures In Monotangles with Roy Stauffer mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/

This week Roy's pick is to use Fengle - I enjoyed doing this one and surprisingly didn't take me long to do.

It was nice to revisit this tangle as I hardly use it. The string for this is Tangle Pattern String #50 by Zentangle co-founder Maria Thomas. (I disregarded the loops :)

thanks for looking - your comments are most welcome

My first full-fledged CZT-tangle :) the first one that started off the real-world inspiration and finally ended looking absolutely unlike it - the transition from pattern to tangle :)

Variations.

Joey´s weekly tangle chanllange #83

I have recently discovered Zentangles and even more recently, the Diva Challenge!

Because I think it would be more of a challenge, I have decided to start from the very beginning XD

This is my take on "Simplicity": a square representing the official Zentangle logo, or a tile with loads of negative space on the inside. I decided to make it a monotangle to place added emphasis on 'simplicity'. I have used the "Cockles & Mussels" tangle as it is simple to recreate but looks rather complicated - which to me is the essence of tangling.

Hi Everyone, and a Happy St Patricks day to you all! ... Feel like I'm cheating on this one a little, ... I originally did this for the Monotangle challenge a couple of weeks back ... at that time I did this negative & thought I would save it for St. Paricks Day, but then I would'nt have anything prepared for the challenge, so I went ahead & posted it then ... Anyway ... here's my bit of green to add to the day along with heartfelt wishes to everyone ... Happy St Patricks Day and if you are drinking to celebrate , use your designated driver and keep yourself safe and the roads safe for everyone else too :) ... Have fun!

This is my take on Tipple as a monotangle. I love using Tipple to emphasise negative space. I use these tipple-hearts SO often, and have even taught this in class - they loved it :) It looks so lacy and complex, but it is SO easy and fun to do. Not to mention, addictive :P

This is my take on "Monotangle": I present Borbz on Bijou - actually I was killing a few Bs with this tile. I drew this not just for the challenge, but also because I have a swap that requires us to swap something that starts with B. I decided to send my partner a bookmark, which is really a Bijou tile, featuring the tangle Borbz ;) Hehehe :P

Lots of mistakes but do I love this pattern.

Joeys weekly challenge. Monotangle: Pea-nuckle

A Monotangle of the gauze-like pattern I've been playing about. I'm not sure if it does not exist already as a tangle, but I like it and I'm keeping it :) I'm calling it Faid. If you've seen it already, please let me know.

I used the Tangle Pattern String 017 to create this drawing.

Windfarm was focus tangle on Square One. Here as a monotangle. Well, almost.

Monotangle Whirlee (Lynn Mead)

What a tough Challenge this was!! Doing a monotangle is quite difficult made even more daunting using your non dominant hand - in my case my left - it's not very interesting to me, lacks substance but it did make me Zen out even more so than usual - thanks for looking :)

here is the link if you have time to see how others approached this challenge iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com.au/

I used this tangle with my Non-Dominent hand (believe it or not). I'm left handed when I'm drawing or writing, so I used my Right Hand to create this drawing.

Another go at Mooka Monotangle Challenge #111 :) this one still unshaded.

Adventure In Monotangles with Roy Stauffer over at Mindful Creations mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/adventures-in-m...

My entry here uses 'Lacy'

I sprinkled rock salt on some paper, randomly dropped some ink onto it then sprayed with water.

Thank you for stopping by :)

I enjoy doing these Monotangle Adventures as it makes me think of ways to expand on the basic tangle.

I used Sandra Strait's tutorial on Semi-transparency to give it a different spin - mine are not as good as hers though :) tanglepatterns.com/2011/05/guest-contributor-sandra-strai...

Thank you for visiting :)

Tipple Monotangle. My idea of doing Tipple inside of Tipple didn't really work the way I thought it might, but nevertheless here it is. Happy tangling everyone.

Weekly Challenge # 260:

"Monotangle: Shattuck"

Haven't done Mooka for a while... So this first Mooka-monotangle for the Diva's Challenge #111 is a bit shaky :(

HI-CS

I've run out of time and have missed the deadline (I had finished this last night but it was getting very late to be uploaded) Oh well, nevermind :)

I do find these Monotangle Adventures quite challenging. I haven't seen what others have done yet - I never know whether you can add patterns within the nominated tangle.

If you have time please visit Roy's Blog mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/ to see other interpretations.

I decided on an oval shape as I felt Hi-Cs lent itself to dimension and depth... I added some shading - could be better

I can see Adventure #11 Fengle is up and running - can't wait, haven't visited Fengle in a long while.

Oh, another thing - can you see 'Kuke' in the background? lol I have a couple of pieces going at the same time. Didn't realise when taking the pic that it had come through the page :)

thank you for your visit
