Last shot taken on Saturday mornings misty goodness. Love the tree reaching in from the right ready to snatch an unsuspecting passer by.

For Mono Monday. This one was actually taken in June, but the sky looks like that this morning as storm Floris moves through. Shot on Ilford HP5 with the Mamiya C220. Ramsey South Shore, Isle Of Man.

Welcome the unexpected changes in life. Learn to bend with grace and humility. Grow trough it all and never ever forget to take notice of the beauty changes can bring.

Rollei IR400 shot with the Mamiya C220, the 55mm lens and a 720nm filter. 1 second exposure at f16. Film semi stand developed in 510 Pyro, which was slightly warmer than it should have been. The scene is Wyndham Park, Grantham, Lincolnshire.

From last year when I was experimenting with blue hour photos.

Some thought at the time that America needed a king.

Washington proved them wrong.

The Light Lab and Spiers and Major have lit a 90m-long pedestrian tunnel at King’s Cross Station using an intergrated LED lightwall.

The gently curving tunnel was built by Allies & Morrison Architects as part of Argent’s King’s Cross masterplan. The inside of the tunnel is lined with repeating panels, which run the length. The lightwall contains 190 controllable vertical pixels set behind 12mm toughened glass. The LED Trimless Panel from The Light Lab is capable of emitting the full RGB spectrum, plus a white light spectrum from 3000K to 6000K. This is one of Europe’s longest lightwalls.

*Working Towards a Better World

Some made the long drop from the apartment or the office window; some took it quietly in two-car garages with the motor running; some used the native tradition of the Colt or Smith and Wesson; those well-constructed implements that end insomnia, terminate remorse, cure cancer, avoid bankruptcy, and blast an exit from intolerable positions by the pressure of a finger; those admirable American instruments so easily carried, so sure of effect, so well designed to end the American dream when it becomes a nightmare, their only drawback the mess they leave for relatives to clean up. -

William Tecumseh Sherman, the first modern general, inventor of “scorched earth” warfare, rebuked by superiors for accepting lenient surrender terms, memorialized posthumously here 4 decades later. Maybe there were just wars in prior centuries.

Somehow i am not finding happy themes for Mono Monday. Wishing you a happy one, anyway.

Two old hens on a hotel veranda. One asks, “Why is this man shooting across the road?”

The other shrugs. “Why does a man do anything?

Happy Mono Monday!

For Mono Monday a shot taken with my lovely Minolta AL-F rangefinder on Kentmere 200, developed in 510 Pyro. piles of old fishing boat hardware that seem to lie around for a long time. Not a huge amount of shadow detail in this film with this developer. The slightly contrasty look makes it seem quite sharp though I think.

The sap is running, and maple season is in full gear. This is a bottle of maple syrup and maple sugar candies.

I guess this could be a double HMM -- Happy Mono Monday and Happy Macro Monday.

A shot I had of Rumblemumbles that was lost in the hard drive.

I am rebuilding my Mac today, so if you don't hear from me soon, it didn't go well.

I am upgrading to Snow Leopard, so I thought I would take the opportunity to format and start from scratch which means a full re-install.

A Week Theme

If you need. We all need just now and again. A handful of 'sit and chat' benches around the park painted in light yellow and light purple. A sign tells passers by they can sit there and others will know they can start a conversation. Maybe its an odd world where we have to have a distinct signal that its okay to talk. Maybe these benches have helped someone at some point. No takers in the half light of this cold February morning. Of course nobody is going to sit there anyway with some guy on the floor poking a camera through the arms of the bench.

No cat has an owner, the cat has servants.

Happy Mono Moggy Monday!

A nice little waterfall I found after all the recent rain we've been having.

Small yet perfectly formed :)

What would I do without Mrs Mail and Rumblemumbles.

Would all the feminists please not send me hate mail.

It wasn't real ok - it was just a dream.

Yamaha motorcycle lighter.

I decided to do a bit more processing with this one than I usually would. Originally the background was bright green, and the flower more of a purplish blue, I personally did not like the lighter green background, so after playing around in Lightroom for awhile, here is what I decided to go with.

Heading to bed, will catch up soon!
