Trentham Gardens - Stoke on Trent

Home to 2 groups of Barbary Macaques (Macaca sylvanus)

These are the only species of Macaque that live outside of Asia, being native to Morocco and Algeria, - and also the only non-human species of primate found in Europe, as they also live on Gibraltar.

Blue monkeys groom, Lake Manyara NP

I went hiking in Dakeng, near Taichung, Taiwan. We saw four monkeys just walking across the path and hanging out in the trees. It let me get close enough to touch it if I had the guts.

A monkey sitting on a moped .. or Vespa for the Italian folks.

 

It's either reaching for the keys of plastic bag with its eat, or admiring itself in the mirror ... or just sitting back after a long day's ride.

A baby Colobus monkey at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park who had to be undergo emergency treatment when less than 2 weeks old has been safely returned to his mother.

baby is hid behind mum here, thus the extra tail and hand peeking out from behind as they both feast on fresh fruit that some locals had given them.

Batu Caves, KL....Malaysia

I can't even describe how unbelievable this place was. It is a mountain in between Beppu and Oita that has some 700 monkeys roaming around free. They don't leave the mountain, but they could if they wanted to.

This wild monkey was roaming outside the Botanical Gardens. There were quite a few around and they are not that big, but when this cheeky one looked at me like that, I actually thought he was going to jump on me and maybe pull my hair off. Wouldn't have been the first time though!
