I have very weird conversation with this monk during my visit to Wat Wisunarat. I just don't know why he start the conversation with me while there were some of the tourists over there and he just choose me for a talk. First he speak English with me later asked me where I came from and later ask me how many language I could speak. Later we use Mandarin in conversation. He said he was study Chinese Language and he was listening chinese song from his handphone. Later the subject conversation were being kinda weird, he just told me don't be feels sad because I surrounded by light of Buddha. Buddha always watch over me. Then I said thank you and I left.

Anyway, that moment I didn't feels sad and also not Buddhism believer. I just feel thankful for his blessing and our conversation was not privately because some of the visitors also taking our picture. Later I just found out that he one of the head of monks in Wat Wisunarat monastery ? oopppsss...

Loved the repetition of postures and stillness between the Buddha and the boy. Dusk and candlelight.

These Monk Parakeets are comical to me. They were lined up on a light pole waiting for us to leave so they could go to their favorite feeder. We noticed that there were about three juveniles in the group. The photo is a little grainy. Overcast weather raised my ISO so I had to adjust in the computer.

Visiting the monasteries and nunneries in Myanmar is one of the most rewarding experiences there. One of the great things about Myanmar is their openness. I found that you can just walk into any monastery or nunnery that you see and start talking with the monks and nuns directly. They are mostly inquisitive and curious about you and want to talk to you, no matter what their level of English is.

I decided to release this old picture taken last March 15, 2006, in conjunction with the events that are happening in Burma (Myanmar). This is a Buddhist Temple run by Buddhist Monks from Thailand. Get more information from the Buddhist Temple set.

This temple was one of the first pictures I treated with HDR. My camera at that time was my reliable Casio Exilim EX-Z57. I still find the pictures good for HDRs. I just have to bring my tripod with me always since I have to manually change the exposures if I want to process the pictures as HDRs. But this just shows you that even a point and shoot camera can produce good quality HDRs. I still got my Exilim but I'm relying heavily now on my Nikon D200 that can shoot fast for up to 9xp. Normally, I go for 5xp or at least 3xp and usually handheld with my D200.

I hope you will like this version.

Somewhere around 85 percent of Myanmar's 50 million people are Buddha Monks get most of the day's food on these walks. Giving alms is a way for lay people to get merit, and for monks to stay in touch with the world outside of the monastery. When they get back from gathering alms, novices eat lunch and rest until 1pm, when afternoon lessons start.
