As an idea to improve the PennLUG city/train layout, I suggested the idea of making building facades as backdrops. This is my first attempt at the idea. I decided to make it modular, both for easier assembly/takedown and so it can be arranged in different ways, depending on the layout. I used a bunch of wide red bricks and some deep windows I had and didn't have much use for.

the footing was poured, the wood post and beam set ,and then roof was installed. once the frame was set (in 4'-4" and 6'-4" spacing) modular panels (built off-site in nearby Kirkwood, MO) were brought to the site. The panels arrived with exterior Rosewood Sheathing and insulation installed. This allowed the builders to have the house dried-in in less than one day.

All the pieces are modular and come apart easily. I can use the main large board for any big room and then have smaller rooms and hallways connect. The base edge of the rooms and halls have the technic style pieces with holes so things can snap and unsnap together quickly.
