One of many modules for a modular home in the Excel Homes Liverpool, PA plant. The modular travel on tracks (visible here) as they move along the assembly line process.
Modular homes are built in pieces or modules in a factory and transported to a site where they are assembled and attached to a permanent foundation. The homes are prized by homeowners and builders for their speed of construction, quality, energy efficiency and their indistinguishable likeness to traditional site-built homes.

This product is pretty cool. One guy set up this home's foundation in a couple days using this modular expanded polystyrene formwork. The consolation to using non-biodegradable polystyrene as a formwork is that you leave the blocks in place, substantially increasing the R-value of the foundation. Not losing heat to the ground represents a huge energy savings in the northern climates.

Not really modular, but you have to make several of them, so I suppose it IS modular origami...

This project was partly about the ideas of modularity but also communicating a sequence or progression in design. The shape we were to build was an icosahedron, one of five platonic solids. We were to show how the icosahedron was formed out of a number of triangles.

This is pretty much my first modular house,and also kinda my first advanced moc.I like how the interior of the house looks,but I'm not a big fan of the exterior.I hope my next houses will be better.Still,I hope you appreciate it.
Another one of my own kaleidoscopic origami designs, in two colorways. I often discover, after coming up with these things, that someone else has also come up with the idea. This one I haven't seen anywhere else, so far, knock on wood.

Here is a neat tip for American Plastic Brick House construction! Modular housing can be built to make moving houses (1962 Bricks and later of course). There are holes in the connecting sides to place connecting bricks.
Some modular flowers with a double layer of petals which I was playing with yesterday. I think more petals would be possible, I just got lazy and didn't bother testing... 6 was enough!
