To prevent the rather 'touchy' receiver catch from springing the receiver top open at unexpected moments, we developed this rather nifty field modification...
Using silver electricians tape!
My first step was to find a rubber grommet that could fit the DD wire through. I proceeded to cut a hole in the vent in a place where the wire would be routed out of sight. The rubber grommet allows for a clean look after shaving out a hole.
From this angle you can see how much of a difference it's made. I am going to make a panel to join the front top tube (to the left of the one marked 'leave') to the bottom tube slightly behind it - the angle ought to make quite a comfortable footrest for the passenger.

I turned the 75888 green Porsche into a light bluish gray one. This final version has a few modifications. Took me a little while to build it since I don’t have that many parts available so it was kinda difficult to find the ones I required. This color was chosen to complement a MOC I’m working on that I will later post once it’s finished.
The Hotel was located at the junction of Stadiou Street with Kolokotronis Square. Note that the statue of Kolokotronis is in the street; it was not moved to a position in front of the Old Parliament until 1920.
We should also note that the view of the Acropolis is entirely imaginary! By 1900, the area was built up and blocked sight of the Acropolis.

Feb 27: Here's the other end of the problem after extensive modifications. Even after raising the height of the the steering assembly and cutting down the control panel mounting tube, the handlebars were still too close to the seat. I fixed this by having the steering link straddle the bottom bracket and still stay on the frame centerline by welding a half-pipe into the bottom bracket top mounting plate. Photo is upside down so you can see what it will look like on the quad.
Some testing of serrating with grinding machine and a regular, cylindrically shaped grider. That looked just fine so I went on with serrating the footpegs.
And here the modified right hand side footpeg is mounted to the bike, I could really feel the improvement while dry testing on the stand! Just another view.
