1. Brake pipes added to the top of bogie frames.

2. Cabside steps top step modified to match prototype.

3. Hand brake chain shortened. Hook added on bogie frame to allow easy disconnection and reattachment.

4 and 5. Flexible sanding pipes added using 1 mm elastic. These are attached to the underframe and slot into sleeves added to the bogies for easy disconnection. These are in line with the rails/wheels, unlike the Heljan versions fitted in line with the inner ends of the bogie frames, and none at the front of the loco.

The faces of the wheels were primed and painted black to remove the shiny metalic finish.

First real turning project. The work piece was an overbuilt aluminum stem from some mountain bike.

Having turned it down, I measured the diameter. My lathe puts in a taper of about .0005" per four inches.
