A spark from Countess' chimney started a small lineside fire. The following day during the early morning inspection a gap was found between two of the components. About ten minutes before the advertised departure time the workshop staff decided to undertake a tactical modification. The loco was uncoupled from the train and taken to the back door of the loco shed and a couple of patches were welded to the underside of the spark arrestor base plate.
